Oh dear, this isn't good news for me. I've decided today that BR is my only option.
What's a DRO? My debts are over £15k, I have no assets over £1k and will have no disposable income after 31st March.

Thanks David, although I've not approached him about this exact question yet because it only came to my mind this morning as I was talking about my last correspondence from him to my parents. But, the fact remains that I've never spoken to him directly or been able to speak to him when I've asked in ...

Hi Melanie, I'm with Debt Lifeboat. Phillip allen is my guy. I've not been able to speak to him directly in the last 2 years. In fact I've never had a conversation with him. Only his colleagues. To be honest I gave up trying & have been emailing him for a quicker response to things. Thanks for the a...

One of my creditors, which was a joint loan with my ex-husband (£12,500 ish), hasn't given my IP proof of debt yet even though I'm 2 years into my IVA. I've already been told that this means they aren't liable for a pay out which would bring my IVA down considerably & would mean that I'm overpaying ...

Phew, thanks Kallis. Nope, don't owe anything to NR. The flat was sold & everything was paid back. I made a grand total of £5.00 from the sale of it after everyone was paid. (Estate Agent, Solicitor etc....)

I treated myself to a fish & chip supper that night.

I asked my IP to send me a Statement of Affairs which, to my suprise, he did quite quickly. Unfortunately I didn't really understand it so asked him to clarify what each column meant. He has written back saying that: a. Northern Rock is acknowledged as being one of my creditors & he has me down as o...

I'd contact your IP & ask how much is left to pay on your IVA. Then you'll have some sort of idea as to what f&f settlement your creditors might consider agreeing to.
Good luck hun

Hi all, I've not been on for a while because I've had a lot of thinking to do & decisions to make. After my meeting with Citizens Advice & reading through all the info they gave me, it does look like BR is my best option. I've been applying for jobs like nobody's business but haven't even had a repl...

Hi Suze, I've never had a letter from my IVA company telling me that my creditors may contact me for an update. I'd contact your IP direct and ask what is going on. I've always been under the impression that once you're in an IVA your creditors can't touch you. Isn't that why we pay our IP's so much...

I've posted a couple of things on here recently & found everyone to be really great. In an IVA for 2 years, being made redundant, IP won't accept lower payments so am thinking of going BR. I'm off to the CAB this morning to get some further advice on redundancy & BR. So, yesterday I got a letter in ...

Hiya, I'm with Debt Lifeboat. They're part of Baker Tilley. I'll check with my IP if I have the funds to go BR but if not, then I can use my redundancy pay. I don't own a house or car so have no assets that would be affected. All of my possessions were retained by my ex-husband (now deceased) so I k...

Obviously get professional advice, but I'd say you're a good candidate for an IVA. I had £26,000 of debt and paid £250 for the first 12 months & have been paying £330 so far.
Good luck. I hope you get yourself sorted.

Hi Swansgirl, thanks for your reply. I think my IVA is doomed & am beginning to think that BR would be better for me. I just wish I had gone BR instead of an IVA 2 years ago but I was not in the right state of mind as my husband had just left me & I was not well. I have revised my I&E but my IP said...
