Thanks for the support, its all been a bit daunting to say the least. Just 2 weeks ago I was ignoring my increasing debt, hiding it all from my wife and making myself feel ill. Since coming to the forum I have had nothing but the best advise, entered into a DMP with VB and had the courage to face up...

Hi everyone, I would like to know if anyone has entered into BR with a car on HP? I have read that they can make you sell the car if its value is above £2500 and get a cheaper one then pay the court the rest. Or pay the court the dividend to keep it. But if it is on HP then I do not own it, so canno...

I may have to go down the BR route as Im now on a 4 day week every two weeks and am struggling in a DMP. My only asset and worry is losing my car, its market value online is between £2400-2900 and is on HP with GE money and pay £150 mnth (still owe £5000 on it though). I work shifts and no chance of...

Still waiting to hear from work about reduced hours but cant let this worry me too much because I cant stop it from happening. Best thing is I have started the jo...

I will have to call someone at Vincent Bond on Monday as the DMP I am about to enter into looks tight as it is. The only things I have of value are my sofa, TV and my car which is on HP itself. Would I have to give up my sofa and TV if BR ? And I know my car would be sold and be made to get another....

Hi ppl....just got back from my nightshift job making parts for Landrover/mini/vauxhall and have just been given a weeks notice to come off nights ! Cant say I'm surprised as the car industry is on its knees at the moment. But seeing as Im about to enter into a DMP with Vincent Bond makes things har...

It must be the best time ever to buy a product at the moment, just look at Vauxhalls 0% deposit and 0% finance car deals to name but one. I know most people who havent had pay/overtime cuts or redundancy still have the same money but are too frightened to spend it because we have been told to hold o...

I feel for you Skip. When I go back to work Monday night we also have a meeting. It will probably be to say were all on a 4 day week, or the end of nightshift (20% premium gone). I have already had to stand down from team leader to operator (£130 less a month). Who would want to work in the car ind...

Hi Jan, I also am working towards a DMP with Andy. One company said an IVA was the best solution, but Andy spoke to me (best part of an hour), evaluated all the ins/outs and the pros and cons. He put my mind at ease and was so professional too. An IVA wouldnt have been in my best interest as I am su...

I have just spoken to an advisor at IVA.com and it appears an IVA may not be the best solution but a DMP. I welcome all the advice as I am no money expert yet (I should be very soon).
I will keep you all posted.
Neil.

Hi again and thanks for the welcome. To answer everyone, I currently have only spoken to CAB debt advice staff who recommended DFD as an IVA provider. I have not as yet been in contact with any other IP's or companies. I was relieved an IVA was a solution for me in CAB's eyes and maybe I should slow...

Hello to all forum members and experts alike. I'm new to the forum and am in the process of gathering all my details for an IVA with 'debt free direct' after speaking to citizens advice. Married with two children living as a council tenant. I had been juggling my debt from one creditor to another, p...
