I'm a union rep, actually I'm vice president of a union! Pension schemes are optional when you start with an employer, and you should recive a pension statement anually. No one is forced to join. The scheme can change from year to year, and the union always fights the corner to get the best benefits...

I'm the same Jan, My IP took my 'flexibility' payment, which is like a shift allowance and my meal allowance into account as basic pay. She based that figure on the average of the last 3 months pay. I lose the shift allowance if I'm off sick, so here's hoping I'm well for next 5 years, or I will be ...

I'm with Melanie, and we have the 10% 50/50 rule. I get paid on the 30th and OH on the 15th, so we have to do 2 calculations and normally have to send 2 cheques off each month for any extra overtime/bonuses. I would hate to leave it until review time, it's far easier to do it once a month, and it do...

Good advice from Melanie. I had a caller from Mercers (barclaycard) on the night before my creditors meeting. He was a decent guy, I told him about the IVA, he looked confused, then went on his merry way. These people are normally ok, they aren't 'bouncer' types, they want a quiet life too. Don't be...

Hi
I agree with the previous posters, the allowances are reasonable, and a decent standard of living can be maintained in an IVA.
Speak to few companies, you need a god relationship with your IP for at least 5 years so choose wisely.
Read the reviews on here, that will help.

Viki was a lifeline to me too- I really had reached an all time low, then Viki rang me and showed us that there is help out there.
She is brilliant at her job, but I feel that it's more than a job to Viki, she gives more than 100%. [:)]

Great news, I would love to meet you all (especially you Viki, you saved my life!)
A September night in Brum sounds like fun to me. It's 100 miles, but should be fine.

I never think about it either Jan. We bought our house last March, paid top price for it then. Now it has £45,000 negative equity!!!! If in 3/4 years time I have to consider an extra 12 months into iva, then so be it. Be cheaper in the long run for me. You can't get blood out of a stone. (a remortga...
