My mother has ccontacted me to say she has put money into my bank account for my grown up children anc can I please make the payments to them. She doesn't know about my IVA and has done this sort of thing in the past (pre-IVA)to help with University costs etc and because she can afford to do this. I...

I try and put money in my savings account every month - use it for birthdays, christmas, unexpected disasters etc. As my IP only requires my payslips - I don't suppose anyone except me is aware of my savings (not vast as you can imagine) Is this OK?

My parents have asked me to have power of attorney for their financial afairs. They don't know about my IVA and I would rather not worry with them with it as they are very elderly. Am I allowed to take on this task while in an IVA?

My agreement says I will pay £150 if I don't have any equity - an that I hope will be that. The end of my IVA coincies with retirement - so no hope of carrying on paying (and no chance of a financial catchup either!)

Thank you for the replies. I'll open an accout with my online bank. No suspiciously large amounts I'm sure.
But just wondering - do I disclose the amount annually or something?
How much would be too much to save (dreaming not reality here ,,, )

I have a small amount of contingency money (need to travel for work - pay upfront and then reclaim - all agreed with IP) and sometimes I manage to save a little towards Christmas or birthdays etc. Am I allowed a savings account in an IVA ?

I am now half way through my IVA. Hooray! But unfortunately I just feel flat, struggling and depressed. Once I reach the end of year 3 (not long to go) I'm wondering if F & F offer would be the way to go because I just don't think I can cope with 2 more years particularly with cost o living increase...

My elderly parents are in need of a lot of care and I would like to be able to supply this. They have offered to lend me the money to make a F and F. I am in year 3 of my IVA and it's unlikely that I will have any equity in my property by year 4. To assist my parents I will need to reduce my working...

Well - going forward - when you move to a DMP - what happens if your debts have been sold in the meantime? Do you pay the original figure - or does the new lower figure go into the DMP? (and come to think of it - same question re. F & F.offers?)

Confused yet again. My IVA (in year 3 now ... not bad eh?) contains the clause about equity remortaging in year 4 (70% is quoted in my documentation). There is no mention of a 6th year. This is just as well as I will be retiring towards the end of year 5 and unable to extend my IVA for financial rea...

I am fascinated that any of you can afford this! Sorry that sounds mean it's juat there is really no spare money for saving or contingencies in my IVA I & E balance sheet. When I needed to make a claim on my house insurance after flooding last year I had to ask my IP for the first £100 that I hsd to...

My annual review (end of year 2) went quite well. I was allowed to keep my 2.5% pay increase because of increases to my mortgage and secured loan (end of fixed rate mortgage too). I saw a message somewhere here saying that you can't increase your household budget or something. This is tricky surely ...
