I finished my IVA a while ago and the 6 years are up. I had my credit file checked with all 3 companies and there is no record of my IVA or any defaults. However I tried an application for a credit card, and a loan specifically for poor credit (via broker), and I was declined for everything. My cred...

Have recently completed my IVA, checked my credit files, and I have 3 creditors with incorrect default dates. Could someone please help or advise me on finding the addresses? Is it simply a case or writing to 'The data controller' at each company? Companies I'm interested in are T-Mobile, Hutchinson...

I recently received my certificate of completion. Also, it has been roughly 6 years since the start of my IVA. Is it still possible to claim back bank charges and PPI? Also, will it make a difference if it is more than 6 years since the start of IVA or not? Thanks.

Thanks guys. I will check those dates and contact the controllers - I had a look before and several were registered after the IVA start date. I need to get a new bank account now (I am currently paying for a managed one which I don't think is appropriate any more). Is there any advantage in waiting ...

ok - looks like the cash builder is a savings account so prob won't be going for that, I think the cashcard account sounds more appropriate. Yes I read that you can't withdraw cash abroad but you can use for purchases which sounds ok to me. Yorkshire bank there aren't enough branches around for me. ...

Thanks for the feedback guys. I do have some concerns that it is considered an electron card in some circumstances - could have implications on using it on foreign websites or abroad, and for refunds. I'm also considering the Nationwide basic account. Does anyone have any comments or positives/negat...

Hi there, been looking at many posts on here about opening new bank accounts. My IVA is almost finished, and last payment is due next month. I've been using thinkbanking since the start of IVA, but now looking to change as I can't justify the monthly cost any more. Seems like co-op is the favourite ...

In general, what is the process at the end of the IVA, what is checked, how long will it take and will the creditors be contacted just to ask if they are happy, or is it done in a different way? Also, I'm nearing the end of my IVA, however I'm a bit worried as I've not been able to clear off some pa...

OK so from the posts above it looks like I will not be contacting my IP regarding this, I will try to clear the payday loans through friends and family, but if not, I will clear them after the IVA finishes. I just have a dreadful feeling the IVA will fail because someone finds out I've taken out cre...

Hi Melanie, thank you for your perspective. Are you suggesting I should just carry on as I am, or should I speak to my IP?

Thank you to everyone for your advice. I think I'll have to talk to my IP and explain. Do you think they are likely to grant me with a payment break of 2 months? Is there any limit to the period they can give as a payment break?
