Thanks for the advice. Just one last thing, if you could tell me what numbers you used, we could both share the jackpot. I'm sure everyone else will be kind to us and pretend they didn't read the numbers you post!

Oh well, I kinda suspected that would be the case. I am with a company called "Dawson White", I doubt anyone has ever heard of them, they seem to have fewer employees than Woolworths! Just to give you an example of the way they drive the arrangement, when my wife and I begun the IVA she was on mater...

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can advise me. Is it possible to move an IVA to a different IP midway through the arrangement? I have 19 months down with 53 to go, and my IP is far less than helpful. I can rarely get to speak to him, I get fobbed off with lame excuses where possible, and my arrangement s...

Thanks for the heads up Viki.
The staff in the branches thankfully dont seem to know that, as I recently gave my IVA as a reason for not attempting to switch my mortgage to them when they tried to sell it to me in branch.

HSBC were one of the few companies not linked to any of my creditors. Fortunately though I was able to get a standard current account with Maestro card, cheque book, and full internet banking. They even offered me an overdraft?!? That would have been a clever way to fail my IVA in the first month!

I must say I dont miss those threatening calls from Mercers to "send the boys round"! We found their threats so severe, that even in the height of last summer we didnt dare leave our windows open for fear that one of "the boys" would appear through it! I remember Eversheds being pretty interesting t...

Hi Natasha. I know how you feel, because our IVA was initially rejected by NR. We were told there was no way they would agree to it as we owed them over £60k between two loans, and both were only barely a year old. Still, we extended it from 5yrs to 6, and we upped our offer from £300 to £400 per mo...

I knew my history was pretty bad, but its reassuring to be in such company! One thing I didn't realise is just how many people are in a 6yr IVA. My IP made it seem almost unthinkable to have to add a year to increase the dividend, but I'm glad it isn't so unusual. I am in a job where I get hugely va...

Hi cat. I know exactly what you mean. Being so restricted frustrates the hell out of me at times. The time of year doesn't help either does it - everyone going on nice sunny distant holidays. Everyone except you or so it seems. Most of my friends and collegues are living in sin with their flexible f...

So many replies so soon! Wow, u r all too kind. I'll try editing my financial history, here goes . . . . I met my wife 6yrs ago, I had loads of credit cards and was absolutely terrible with money. I used to write credit card cheques to my own bank account just to cover monthly repayments some months...

Thought it was time to join you all and say hello! I'm in a joint IVA with my wife, as we had alot of unsecured debt which we just couldn't cope with. Anyway, won't bog you all down with too much detail just yet -I think I'll keep it back to pour out some time when I need to! We've now made 11 payme...
