We have the deposit and mortgage sorted. Had a letter from IP saying mortgages were viewed as credit and therefore I couldn't have one but was told before starting IVA that mortgages were fine as they were secured against house. Now my IP will not return any of my calls.

I had to have my credit check done prior to my most recent rental and was told it was down to my future landlord whether or not I could have the flat. I don't think they are that bothered as long as they get their rent and your references have come back ok.

Expenses will be pretty much identical to now so IVA payments should be unchanged. Have tried contacting Clearstart all week and my ip will not return my calls and i cannot get transferred to him or any other IP.

If there is a clause in IVA contract stating no credit and the IVA company tells you that mortgages are viewed as credit but a mortgage is obtained and a house bought, what can the IVA company do?

Its through Clearstart. My major concern when getting an IVA was the ability to get a mortgage and now i have been told that it is 'deemed as gaining credit' and going against terms of IVA. The mortgage payments would be similar to my rent payments, even slightly lower. I'm confused as to why they c...

I got an IVA in August 2007 and was told by the company that i would still be able to get a mortgage for my first home but could not get any credit on credit cards or loans. I have a mortgage agreed in principle and wrote to the IVA company re: change in payments and whether there would be any. I re...
