You will have to see what is on offer on the table, as long as you do not start paying out until you are happy with what you are doing and the creditors are going to play ball, you should be OK

You need to ask on what authority the IP has on your wife assets, I presume the IVA is yours, are you sure the IP told you this and not a case worker, even if your wife was to burn her share that is her business it does not belong to the representative of your creditors, the IP to take.

That is a decent PPI award, I wonder if that would have made a difference to you into entering in the IVA in the first place £12000 is a good full and final settlement for many who are not already in an insolvency solution.
