Hi! Thanks for your replies again! Sorry - my last message did not make sense - I meant to say DMP not IVA. I think I will contact Brightoak and compare them with Payplan. Yes, with regards Canada I am very excited - it feels so right - I have wanted to go there for about 10 years now - I got some g...

Hi! Thanks again for your replies! I originally went to quite a few firms regarding IVA's and they seemed to take into account a lot more possible expenditires than Payplan did, so maybe if I go back to Payplan and add some more expenditures then the monthly payments might be reduced somewhat? Or ma...

I am thinking of going with Payplan for the DMP, but th repayments they proposed seemed quite high - more than in an IVA...

Hi Guys! Well, I have now decided that an IVA is not right for me - thanks to everyone for your advice and info.! As I am going to Canada for a year in January 2009 for year, maybe for good, I just do not feel that it would be right to enter into an IVA when there is a good chance it will fail. So, ...

I read somewhere that I would need to tell my Employer and my Landlord that I had been declared Bankrupt. Surely they would find out one way or another at some point anyay? Surely it would be better to come 'from the Horse's Mouth'? I work for a LOcal Authority. Would my TAX Code not be set to '0' a...

I think I am going to go straight for BR now, and forget the DMP / IVA - I know I am going to have to go BR eventually anyway so I might aswell bite the bullet and go for it now and not waste everyone's time. I need to hold out until September though - I need one more full ay from work to get the mo...

Ok thanks Jan.

Yeah, they seemed decent enough when I spoke to them yesterday - some of the other IP's have seemed a bit 'out on the sell' if you know what I mean? Which is fair enough I suppose...

Hi Melanie!

Thanks once again for your advice! I have been in contact with Payplan regarding a DMP - are they considered to be a good company for DMP's?

The £500 which I have in cash will either go towards BR fees (if needed), or a flight to Canada...

Dear Forum Hope you are all well! I have just received quite a scary card through the post today from Co-operative Fiancial Services saying that: "We have instructed Power 2 Contact to visit you at your home address within the next 10 days to discuss the arrears on the above account. Dear Forum Thanks to everyone for the replies. I have now cancelled all the SO's and DD's to my creditors. I don't think I will even offer the token payments now. I am too far gone, with £46,000 debt I need a more permanent solution. I will contact an IP this week, either for a DMP or IVA. Thanks on...

Hi Andy

Thanks for your replies!

Why would a DMP be better? Does it allow for more flexibility or something?

I may end up not coming back from Canada at all...
