Northern Rocks final offer is 625 for 72 months excluding my dads debt. That basically means i'll pay back 45000 and then still have to pay my dad 18000 at the end of the 6 years. I owe 63 thousand in total so I don't feel I can agree to the terms as in total i'll have to pay back almost everything ...

Thanks for your thoughts Ian, much appreicated. I don't own the copyright to my work so I guess as you say it would not be a problem.

I'll know by the end of the day what my exact options are and then i'll have to decide in the morning.

Yeah i can see what you are saying, I'm discussing the longer period with my IP at the moment over email as i'm at work. It's reasonable but 7 years seems such a long time to be in a legal agreement. Surely it's almost like a DMP as i get nearer to paying back the total less interest? I have a feeli...

I was thinking whether I should suggest to extend the payments even further, say another year.

The Northern Rock loan was for 120 months of which i'd made 23 monthly payments.

Yes Ian...there is no provision for him in my IandE he has agreed to be dealt with as a normal creditor so he will only get back half of what i paid him in the agreement. Like I said...to agree to the IVA without him as a creditor means I can't afford to pay him back anything at all for 6 years. I s...

Hi and thanks for your responses...The extra year was explained to me and i've not really got a problem with that, as you say five years/six years is not a major issue. My Dad is retired and needs the money back, I was paying him back £350 a month over 5 years so it's quite a sum to go completely mi...

Just thought I'd give a quick update My IP put MBNA right on the points I raised about them opting out and i've not heard from them since, neither has she. They have voted to reject my IVA though. Northern Rocj are being equally problematic suggesting that I need to pay them 70p in the pound not the...

Hi My Creditors meeting is today and MBNA are still being a pain. They are maintaining that becuase i've only had my card since December 2007 (when I did a balance transfer) they think they can be exempt from the IVA legally! They have rung me twice today saying the same thing. MY IP is seeking lega...

Thanks Ian, As you say my debt is not secured so it did sound strange to me but of course I wanted to play things safe so just batted them back and spoke to my nominee about it. She said she hadn't heard of anything like that before and as you do, thought it sounded dodgy but wanted to check it out....

Hi everyone, my first post on here although i've been a reader for a few weeks. My IVA creditors meeting is later this month, I owe Virgin Credit Cards (MBNA) 9k. They have a 14% vote at my meeting. They are saying that because I transfered a balance onto my car within 3 months of my IVA application...
