Is it ever possible for a 'basic' bank account to provide a cheque book?
I have a Readycash account with Clydesdale, but although it is an excellent account, they do not provide a cheque book.

Just to clarify, CCCS said that I need to send the message the Supervisory Department, and this would be passed to Jacqueline - but it still seems odd that I can't just be given her direct address. I will call them.

CCCS have just replied to my query to say that I can't e-mail Jacqueline directly, but I have to send a message via the Supervisory Department. No, a mortgage payment holiday is an AGREED arrangement - I would certainly not simply miss a mortgage payment without contacting my provider.
The sum would then be added to the mortgage, therefore increasing the term by a month AND incurring extra interest.
