Two months is not long in the grand scheme of things. Also covid has probably slowed them down a bit too. At least your no longer making payments. Fingers crossed it will be finished with in the coming days.

I also recently completed 6 years IVA with stepchange but I found them very quick to deal with the completion. Approximately 6 weeks after my final payment I received my completion certificate. I too received an email advising me they were waiting for my completion certificate to be signed and to ex...

I can’t explain why but I even feel more elated about my Iva be removed from my credit reports than I did when receiving my completion certificate. Anyway, hope everyone has a great day, I’m off out to celebrate. Cheers.

Just thought I would update for anyone interested. My IVA 6th year anniversary was May 21. Final payment July 21 and completion certificate received 27/8/21 although dated 16/8/21. I checked the insolvency register this morning and it is now showing as complete. I’ve been using the free apps as well...

5/6 does appear daunting, but I agree with what you say, a drop in the ocean. Mine lasted 6 years and I repayed just under 50p in the £1. On that basis it would of been 12 years to get to 100p in the pound. Plus when you consider interest that would of continued for all that time, I might well of ne...

Thanks for that. I guess I’ll keep checking the register and reports weekly and watch my scores improve 🤞. I have read a great post on here from foggy about cleaning up credit files etc post Iva so hopefully I’m all set once the IR is dealt with. Also I’ll definitely be in touch with Ryan/Shaun rega...

Thanks guys. I have a quick question for you. My 6 year anniversary has already passed and my Iva is obviously still showing on my credit reports. Will it disappear from the reports once the CRA’s receive my completion paperwork? Or does me being on the insolvency register for another 3 months or so...

Hi all. I have today received my completion paperwork after my final payment in was made July. What a great feeling. 6 long years but so worth it, I can’t believe I’m actually debt free. I wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you forum experts that post on here, you have been an absolute god sen...

I stopped paying my creditors as soon as I applied for my IVA. My Iva company suggested making token payments if I could afford too but I never did. I would totally agree with what Foggy has said. The fact you are entering and IVA suggests you can’t afford the loan payment, and definitely not both t...

Hi. I too am with stepchange and been through the equity release procedure. I was worried by it all and like you much preferred the idea of a 12 month extension rather than remortgage or secured loan. I didn’t have the troubles you are experiencing, I found stepchange very helpful through the whole ...

Sounds like stepchange have suggested a DMP rather than an Iva. Also your debt is £18500 with one creditor, a bank loan? I think you need at least 3 creditors to qualify for IVA?? No exp with DMP or bankruptcy but my IVA is with stepchange and they have been brilliant for me since day one.

I asked the same question recently and following the advice given here, I contacted my IVA company and they told me the rise is all mine until the next review. They did mention the 10% 50/50 threshold, so I assume if I’d of had a bigger rise it may of been different. As mentioned above tho, I would ...

Thanks for your reply. And I will defiantly take your advice. I will send them an email now and see what they come back with. Better to pay the extra now if needs be than be told extra is owed next year. I know it won’t equate to much but I’m literally counting the weeks until July, so I don’t want ...

Hi all I currently have 10 months to go before my IVA is due to end. I have just been given a modest pay rise of £120 per month and was wandering if I need to pay half of this into my IVA. It does not take my income above the 10% point so the 50/50 I assume would not come into effect like bonuses et...
