Thanks for the replies. There is not really any other way than to lose the house it would seem. I will have no income, and my husband earns less than 14k a year and the repayment is 840 a month, so no way either of us can afford that. Bankruptcy will no doubt occur eventually too once we have both s...

I owe lots of money, and my husband and I are separating. Can anyone let me know how long it would take to get repossessed by Northern Rock and what happens? We simply cannot live under the same roof together anymore and we know it's inevitable as neither can sustain the house. We were going to leav...

Have major problem. Firstly have a Northern Rock Together Mortgage that is £108k mortgage, 32k unsecured loan. On a debt management plan that we owe roughly 33k(which we have paid off 10k now of that) and that includes a CCJ of what was 5.5k, but they are adding interest of around 19%, so that is go...

I am enquiring with some people regarding the possibility of an IVA with 68k for my husband and I. However, I said we can afford 550pm and some are saying thats not enough. I thought we may stand a chance on that - advice anyone?

How long would it take to do that(get the 30k secured?) We are up to date on most payments at the moment, but any missed will be made up next month and may be then behind with another for a month.

I think bankruptcy is the only thing they really worry about(I'm there as well!) It may really only have a bearing if you want a job that involves the full security check(they check finance, sexuality etc) for sensitive posts.

The house is mortgaged for 105k. Bought it for 110k, and given the market, 110k is what we'd get now realistically. We would only be in negative equity if we secured the 30k against it.

But if this was the case and they secured my 30k, I would be really 30k in negative equity. WOuld this have a bearing on their securing it? If that element stayed the same level of the unsecured payment, but secured - currently about 180 per month, And the rest was in an IVA, which is say max 300 pe...
