No the cheque was not for wages.

However, can you please clarify - when you say "went into liquidation on 28/1/08" do you mean that that was the date of the creditors meeting? Did you received notice of the meeting?

A cheque was received 25/01/08 and was dated 04/01/08 this was banked. The company entered into liquidation 28/01/08 and the cheque was stopped with the reason 'Payment prevented by insolvency act proceedings' do we have any recourse to claim the money for the bounced cheque?
