Hello, I did a lump sum IVA in April 2019. My husband and I are most likely separating. We have two young children so I was asking to stay in the family home for a maximum of 4 years - basically until our youngest started school. I would have been able to pay the full mortgage, and then sell and spl...

Hello all, i’m not too sure if you will see this reply, but just wanted to say thank you for all the advice and kind comments, they helped massively during a horribly stressful time. I had my creditors meeting this week and all lenders voted to accept my lump sum offer. I do realise that I am incred...

22p is a healthy return, especially when you consider that they will, in the long run, be saving on admin ( not having to process small payments over the coming years) and they will be able to write the "toxic debt"m off of their books (which makes their accounts look healthier, strangely). Best of...

I finally have my creditor meeting date and am so worried - I am 6 months pregnant and partly due to this a family member has offered a lump sum that pays back about 22p/pound - is this too low? My IP seems happy to put it forward but I really don’t feel too hopeful. Before any fees are deducted it ...

Hello, thank you for the previous help, much appreciated - my IP at StepChange has said they are happy to potentially put an lump sum offer of 12,000 -13,000 forwards as an alternative to a contribution based IVA which I currently have a proposal drafted for, but have not yet signed or committed to....

I am wondering if anyone can help me please? I have received my proposal to sign from Stepchange and return back but it looks as if a family member may be considering helping with a lump sum settlement? I have spoken to my IP and they cannot advise any kind of an amount. The budget we put together c...

Sorry for dramatic title but am panicking and not too sure what to do. I am in the process of returning paperwork to StepChange and have just had a positive pregnancy test, but very, very early days. This would be our second child. I suppose I should be straight on the phone to StepChange but just w...

Sorry, not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I have been speaking to Stepchange and just need to return signed paperwork to them. Without actually really looking I have been offered a new job which is a little more money (2k a year) doesn’t affect any of my other outgoings and long te...

Hi, I am about to commit to an IVA but having some last minute wobbles and sleepless nights. All debts (40k) are in my name and I have about £165 to offer creditors each month. StepChange seem to think this is realistic, however when I speak to creditors to advise that I will be unable to make the n...
