Hiya, I received my certificate of completion in April this year ref my IVA. My questions are in relation to the correct practice of companies that agreed to be bound over by the courts after accepting my IVA as negotiated by my Insolvency Practitioner. Namely, can companies really sell on a debt wh...

Hi Patch, Unfortunately, the government have stated that you can only pay a registered child minder or child care facility to look after your children. As a single parent I wanted help from my mum but they wouldnt accept paying her as an expense. At least if you pay a child minder I believe you can ...

In relation to Emma's response above. It seems you were lucky HSBC made my life hell, they wouldnt listen at all, phoned me at work infront of my boss daily and wouldnt stop calling. Demanding money with a right attitude. I also had some abuse from Barclaycard, all sarcastic that I owe the debt and ...

Hi Amber, my heart truly goes out to you. Is there no way your family could help with childcare so that you could secure a job and have a fighting chance? I entered into an IVA as a single parent and had to rely on family as I couldnt afford childcare, its a struggle but you can do it with some supp...

Ah, if only it were that simple. The defaults on my credit file will outlive the information pertaining to my IVA being removed in March 2012. Unfortunatley, its a case of waiting. Although, I am surprised to read Bankruptcy is only recorded for 6 years as I was told 10 years by my IP so that I woul...

Hiya All, This is the place I find myself in. But I am luck in as much my IVA is now completed and I am on Income Support to stay at home with my son. So I will look for a place that accepts DSS as I understand this way credit checks aren't done. Other than that I have pretty heard the six months up...

Hi Gatz, On the face of it I think an IVA would be best for you right now. However, you will have to do the sums with the professionals on here to see if it is a viable option. I wish you all the best. Don't lose hope.

Hiya Kilohurtz, The reason you need a new account is so that your current bank account is in no way connected to any of your creditors i.e. credit cards, loans etc. Unfortunately, allot of the banks are merged now and so you need to be careful for example you might have a debt with Barclaycard and f...

Hiya Martha07, Just to put your mind at rest I had HSBC as my main creditor when I had my IVA agreed, and they actually didnt bother to vote. However, my IVA went through as the vote(s) my IP got in were in favour, therefore the vote carried at 100% of whom voted in favour. I wouldn't worry I owed H...

Can't believe that they have broken the rules and aren't worried about it. It will come back to bite them in the end. Can't say I envy their position right now. I am amazed nothing came up on the credit report with regards to insolvency, maybe the paperwork hasn't yet reached the court. But given th...

Hi Melanie, Many thanks for your reply. I just want to comfirm really that the debt which currently shows as outstanding will be marked as satisified. Hiya, I was just wondering if you could help me to get a few things clear in my mind. I have just a week ago had my Full & Final Settlement offer accepted against my IVA after just 20 months. However, although I know this is not an over night process, even once the creditors have been paid (5 in all...

Hiya, Apart from all the mental anguish I can see you are going through. I have to say that I simply cannot believe the cost of your proposed variation meeting. The total cost of my Variation Meeting was £575 inc VAT I do believe.
