Hi guys, thought I would write a post for those starting out on their IVA journey or thinking about starting one. Me and my husband took out IVA’s in February 2018. We had been robbing Peter to pay Paul for a couple of years and realised we couldn’t carry on anymore. After paying the household bills...

Hi guys! We did an early settlement on our IVA but it will still be on our credit file for another 2 1/2 years. We really want to try and remortgage to add on our ‘help to buy’ loan when we bought our house as we are just paying interest on it and it will never be paid off! Has anyone managed to rem...

Brilliant news. Its amazing how you get a savings bug after going through such hard times. My son was a teenager when we went through our insolvency and I'm so pleased even he learned lessons on how not to run his finances due to our mistakes. It’s really great to learn better habits! Plan is to sa...

I got good news this week that my early settlement has been accepted. I don’t need to pay anymore payments to my IVA and they’ve said up to 3 months for completion certificate. I know my credit is still shot till it drops off record but I feel so much better about it all. My IVA has taught me how to...

Hi my fixed rate ended last year and I was able to go on to another fixed rate with my mortgage provider no problem at all. They sent the letter out to remind me and I just logged on to my account and applied for the rate I wanted.

As above they normally work your payments out over 12 months so it’s a bit of a bonus when you pay your council tax over 10 months. Keep the money for emergencies or in my case the two ‘free’ months falls right in between my children’s birthdays, so it’s very helpful.

They are gonna offer £104 and 12.80p/£ all altogether my debt is 20,000 That sounds reasonable and they can always budge a little if they need to - they added £30 a month to mine so it doesn’t always mean it will be an outright no they do like to consider modifications if you can afford it. I don’t...

Hi, In our IVA it says that once my youngest child is in full time school then I will seek a part time job. 1) Am I right in thinking that they are asking me to find work but they can’t enforce it? I have 3 children and no child care so unless it was a term time only job I would be paying child care...
