We did tell the truth but was just asking the question as it doesn't show the IVA on my credit file. So if I was able to go straight to the bank wouldn't have to pay a broker to do it for me. Saving money 🙂
Thanks for your assistance

Yes it's not something I want to hide. It's just that if I don't have to claim it I would get a better deal with the bank than a specialist broker. It Was just them asking in the last 6 years,so guessing they only check that far back and if it's not showing on my credit file then didn't think I woul...

If it's not showing on the credit file then I don't have to claim it do I?. As it says the IVA stays on your record for 6 years from when you enter it. Ours was 9 years so 3 years over and the question was in the last 6 years. The credit file is what the lender will look at isn't it? Is this correct...

Hi we have now finished our IVA. Our last payment was last September but didn't get our closure certificate until January. We are also now of this insolvency list (think that's what it's called). We recently went to our mortgage supplier to ask to borrow extra money for renovations to our house. Of ...

Hi we have finished our IVA , received our certificate and finally been taken off the list 🙌 (9 years in total). We are wanting to either remortgage to do essential things in and around the house. Or if it is not much difference to look at selling and buying a new house. We have started building our...

Hi I'm just about to finish my IVA in September after a total of 6 years. We didn't have to release our equity in our house in our final year. Just carried on paying our instalments. Once we have made our final payment what are the chances of being able to remortgage for home improvement or even to ...

Thanks for the reply. We had just finished our iva. Well was asked to take a secured loan but decided to against it due to the amount it would cost us. We asked for a extra year instead will this still go ahead with the new company. Thanks

Hi
I'm with debt free direct and just been told they have gone into administration. I rang them to try and get some answers but wouldn't give me any. Has anyone heard this and where does it leave me with all money I have paid to them
Thanks

Yes i seem to be finding out now that can't trust everything. I just went on the phone conversation I had saying it's just to help to keep things up to date and not to worry about it.

Yeah hopefully not. Are they allowed to do that without giving us the option in the first place or even explain it? Would that mean if so we would have no choice but to do that or could we contest it . Don't understand how they would put us another£33000 in debt or be allowed to.
Thanks

Hi I can remember them asking us to sign something a while ago but just said nothing to worry about just to keep up with records and to help to the end of agreement to run smoothly. I'm beginning to worry this is what they have done they never told what it actually entitled . As I would have never a...

Hi finally heard from them. We currently have £13000 left to pay and valued the house at £115 which untrue value as looked myself and it's estimated £97000. We can't remortgage so are offering a secured loan over 13 years which what they want back amounts to £33000 . So basically add another £33000...

Ok thanks for replying all. How can we remortgage though if in a iva didn't think it would be possible?
