Skip, a bankruptcy really won't show up on an enhanced CRB. It literally is a Criminal records check to make sure you don't have any convictions. I think I've had about 8 done in the last year because of my job/activities!

I've managed to get through the first 3 stages of the job I applied for (and told you guys about in Dec) and have got through to the final stage and interview on the 19th Feb. The interview is 6 hours long, with various panel interviews and presentations/aptitude & skills tests. I'm worried sick abo...

I am sorry to hear about this, Mrs Skint. I know how much you love your pets. I'm probably going to get really slated for this, (puts on flame proof suit) 90% of animal/human related problems come from not understanding the nuances of animal behaviour. That's not the owners fault, but people forget ...

My folks are home for Xmas, Melanie. As for the hunky vet, unfortunately the cats use the Cat Clinic and the vet there, whilst awesome as a vet, is old enough to be my father and his wife runs the reception!! [:D] However... hunky vet is a collie man, and although it was hard for me when Cara was ho...

Bit of a fun sweepstake here, folks... who is getting the most "practical" gift for Xmas? I had the courage to tell my parents about my IVA in September, 6 months after it was approved. My dad was initially horrified things were so bad financially but since then, has been really great and supportive...

I was in Azda this morning. The queues were quite literally 20 people deep, all with loaded trollies. Of the 2 tills I watched (sat in the coffee shop), not one person paid with cash. Most seemed to be paying with credit cards, not debit cards.
Truly scary.

Hi folks, I've been mostly lurking rather than posting as life has been manic, complicated and stressful, but I'd like to wish everyone a happy and stress free Xmas and a New Year that brings good luck, improved circumstances and happiness. Only a little thing, but my debt rehabilitation seems to be working to plan... Thanks Melanie! [:)] Yesterday, my vacuum cleaner blew up in a spectacular manner, with lots of smoke coming out the back. It is, to coin a phrase, b*ggered beyond repair. So, I duly toddled around to my grans house and o...

My contract came to an end on 31st August and I am currently unemployed although I can get teaching supply work from end of September on.. My question is, if I got a tax rebate would all of it be required to be paid to the IP as a windfall, or would I be able to use it to make up the missing income ...

First off, Skippy, {{{{{{{{{{{BIG HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Now, speaking from (not inconsiderable) experience, Keeping Harry completely indoors is NOT cruel, providing that you supply him with lots of attention, play and stimulation. Also, if he won't eat meat, don't stress it too much - I've had plenty o...

We have a new addition to the family. Riley is a 4 month old tabby completely feral boy who is severely traumatised. He is currently part of a serious RSPCA prosecution case - the minute I get clearance, his adoption will be official. All I'll say about his background is that if I had caught up with...

The irony is, is that she thinks she's better at financial management than me because she's not in an IVA and owns her house with a 125% mortgage from Northern Rock!!
Bonkers really!
