Its been a while since I have been on here - I recognise the names of some members who were on here 5 years ago when I was! We entered our IVA in February 2007, my husbands would end in Jan 2012 and thanks to Melanie Giles and her team at a variation meeting yesterday it was agreed that mine will en...

I've had 2 this week from Halifax and Bank of Scotland. I rang them both and reminded them about the IVA and they backed off - I'm sure they are all trying to scare people sometimes but now I'm well into the IVA I don't worry anymore!

We are nearly 2 years into our IVA which is going really well (thanks to Melanie and her team). We come out of our fixed rate with NR in January though and aside from flapping about that I thought there was a light at the end of the tunnel with the 0.5% recent interest rate cut but i can't see that ...

It happens very regularly - the debt buyers are bound by the terms of the IVA. At least half of my debts since being in an IVA have been bought by Max Recovery Ltd. From their point of view I suppose they get the advantage of the IVA completing and potential to make some profit.

For several weeks after our IVA's were approved we received calls from creditors denying the existence of the IVA. Most of them we could get rid of as they had voted at the meeting so it was a nonsense to deny all knowledge of the IVA at all as some of them did. i did have a chase from one creditor ...

When we were in a DMP HSBC had no problem with us at all. I changed prior to going into the IVA to Yorkshire bank because I had read bad things about HSBC but to be fair to them they were always ok with me.

Storm
How long is a CCJ on your file? Our IVA was approved on the 5th Feb and the CCJ had been entered on the 2nd Feb (both 2007). I'm working on the basis they should both drop off my credit file at a similar time - is that right?

Melanie has sorted it out - the creditors solicitor has written to the Court withdrawing their application and asking for discharge of the interim charging order - they then had the b****y cheek to say to me that I should ring the Court and speak to the Land registry to make sure the hearing gets va...

I've had that call as well Kezza and its seems legit. I'm not doing it though as I'm too afraid I'll let something slip and people will find out - I have to keep it under my hat as it will affect me. It did make me laugh at the offer of M & S vouchers though!

This once happened to us when we applied for a secured loan with them - we hadn't agreed anything nor had they given us any figures. When I found out I complained but the charge had already expired and they didn't even respond to me. I should have chased it up but it was overtaken with everything el...

I'm sorry Baz - I did reply back to you again earlier in the day but my response has disappeared from the forum albeit that it was there earlier! If you are on the receiving end of harrassment you can report this to the Police. They will give you a log number. You have to keep reporting incidents to...

Hi Baz Most solicitors firms offer a free half hour service and will be able to assess if you are eligible for legal aid which will mean that they will be able to write the letters for you at no cost to yourself. Your local CAB should be able to help with you details of firms who offer this service ...
