Hi Allan The District Judge would, or certainly should, in my experience, have picked up on this and realised straight away they were statute barred from proceeding with the claim. What Melanie has said is quite right - if they contact you again inform them they are statute barred from pursuing the ...

I had a bad experience with CCCS who recommended a debt management plan which would have taken us over 15 years to pay and never once discussed or referred to an IVA. In the face of a stat demand and an application for a CCJ they told me "not to worry". I turned to thomas charles as the 3rd company ...

I would definately recommend them from my own personal experience - they referred me to an excellent IP and their advice at the outset was very good and very helpful. I did speak to several companies but had the most confidence in thomas charles. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Lara You must speak to several different companies - can I recommend www.thomascharles.com. They will advise you fully - I'm not so sure about the 6 months timescale that has been given to you - in usual circumstances it shouldn't take so long for an IVA proposal to be put to your creditors - I'm su...

Hi Andrea Thomas Charles put me in touch with Melanie as our IP. You won't go wrong with them at all - they are very professional and extremely helpful - make the call and I promise you that you will then feel so much better. Most of us have been where you are now and it feels as though there is no ...

Hi everyone - brilliant news - our IVA's have been approved today after 2 adjournments. I've posted this in this section as I suspect more people will see it here and hopefully will help those of you still in the waiting game. In my last post I said we had been adjourned again as Northern Rock had v...

You make me laugh debtdummy! I love your posts! I'm sorry its bad news. I know exactly where you're coming from though - my hubby had to have heart surgery out of the blue a couple of years ago and I have never been so scared in my life - I look back now and want to go back and hug the pair of us! Creditors meeting has been adjourned again for the second and final time until next Monday. Northern Rock said no this time. Not easy -like walking a tightrope all the time and my nerves are in shreds. My hubby who is usually so level headed and little gets to him even seems despondent now. Hasn't b...

I'm not an expert but know a fair bit about stat demands ahving being served with one in November. My understanding is that you can apply within 18 days of the date of service of the stat demand upon you to set it aside. You have however, have to have grounds to do this, eg the debt is not owed by y...

You are so right debt dummy! I have to say your post cheered me up - especially the Atilla the Hun part! That is what it feels like. I feel like I'm on a rollercoaster at the minute until the adjourned meeting resumes on Monday - I'm up then down and all over the place! But we still get up, dig deep...

Hi debtdummy Your IP reallyshould be dealing with this for you - mine dealt very well when I was served with a statutory demand - she did it all. That is what an IP is there for - I met my IP face to face and I therefore know all the time who I am dealing with - I can even email my IP directly who a...

Kerri Hang on in there - have you spoken to anyone yet about setting up a DMP? A reputable company may well be able to take the pressure off you from the creditors - I have been there and know what it is like - its constant hounding and fear of the letterbox and telephone and who may be walking up t...

The meeting is adjourned so we'll have to wait and see. Keep everything crossed! What a stressful day!! Never mind - am sure we'll get there in the end! Thanks for your kind thoughts Lily and Skippy.
