all your posts are very encouraging... and I think there's a lesson here for us all. Knowing the gifts you've got for others are bought and payed for is fantastic. In our failing economy, getting credit is just old fashioned dept. I'm trying to encourage my friends at work not to use credit cards. I...

I think given your circustances I would go directly to Natwest. Write a letter explaining your position, your monthly outgoings, and work out a realistic surplus income, from this derive the amount you can afford to pay back to them over each month. It's in their interest to consider this. Don't jug...

I've just watched the studant interviews on the IVA-TV page. I wouldn't expect many to know what high interest or compound interest meant to them, but almost 100% knew little or nothing of either. These yongsters will be lured by the promise of thousands of pounds of cash straight into there young h...

true, the partners income will need to be considered, to determine all houshold outgoings. This is reasonable. But her loans and cards are mutleys responsibility. The amount paid will be determined by what she can afford, after her own monthly commitments have been reviewed. Correct?

Melanie, I should also point out that many of the major online gambling companies are required now by law to offer help to customers thorough responsible gambling measures to help people who are in this situation. It can be difficult being sypathetic about this, if you have never gone through it. It...

you'll need too declare this. Usually 50% is expected to be added from any extra income back to your IVA. The same applies to bonuses. Contact your IVA administrator straight away.

Your IVA could be extended past five years if your circumstances have changed. I've been told that an extension of sixteen months could be given, but this will vary from one company to the next. Not sure about the interest. This sounds a bit dodgy. Interest is usually not added, although I'm sure so...

interesting story... past experience tells me that MNBA are one of the worst creditors for throwing their weight around. Don't fall for it. If they encourage you to go on a reduced payment scheme take advantage of it, and do the following: Write a letter to each creditor explaining you have no reaso...

barbervi your post really struck a chord with me. Like yourself I earn around £2100 a month. A decent salery. My wife earns around £1500. Our total debts were £65,000, all mostly credit cards. It seemned an almost impossible level of debt, and would get to the end of each month with nothing. Our fir...
