Can anyone help me, I am curious as to whether an IVA is actually paying off my debts, or am I just paying a company to hold back my creditors for 5 years? Am concerned that when my IVA is completed, I will be in the same position as when I began my IVA with everyone chasing me for money every month...

Just wondering what would happen if i decided to buy a new car?
Obviously I would fail a credit check being in an IVA, so am I expected to try and save for a newer car? This would be pretty much impossible
Would I have to inform my IP if I did change my car in the period of my IVA?

--------------------------------------Hello I'm currently 18 months into my IVA. Just wondering if it would be possible for me to claim back bank charges from any of my accounts? And if so, if any money was repaid to me, what percentage would I have to pay back into my IVA? Any help would be appreci...

Hello I'm currently in an IVA but my boyfriend is now considering entering into one, as he has left university. His debts in total (including student loan) equate to over £15,000, but as this didn't affect me as I didn't have any student loans, he was wondering if the student loan part of his debt w...

I'm now 1 year into my IVA when should I expect to hear from my IP?
I sent my income and expenditure form back to my IP in March and not heard anything from them since, thought they would of been in touch by now.

Hello Just wanted to post a message to say that I've made it to 1 year into my IVA. My IVA was approved on 16 May 2007 and even though times have sometimes been a struggle, I got there and can say that my IVA has definitely changed my life for the better. 4 years to go - BRING IT ON!!!!![:)] Rachel

Hello I've received the paperwork from my IP regarding my first year review (can't believe I've been in an IVA for a year already). They've asked for my amended income and expenditure, and proof thereof. If I increase each amount by say £5-£10 only (roughly the extra that I'm now spending extra) do ...

My IVA was agreed in May 2007 and I am making payments of £348 a month, last month I received a payrise of approx £22 a month (hardly worth it in my opinion).
Will my payment be increased by the amount of my payrise? or as it is only a 3% payrise will my payments remain as they are?

[font=Comic Sans MS]I'm due a payrise in October - not a lot just 3% which works out at about £30 a month as I'm not a spectacular wage where I work.
Just wondered though, will my payments to my IVA be increased by this or will I get to keep the extra income myself? [font=Comic Sans MS]
