Thanks for the advice. I looked at the co-op and more than and they were quite expensive, but I also looked at directline and that was really the best value found so far and they haven't asked either only issue is I need to pay all in one go. I just don't understand why bankruptcy in the past is a p...

Hi there, I am looking to get house contents insurance but the guy i share the house with is a discharged bankrupt and I've now found out that it seems pretty much all insurance companies either won't insure me or have hefted up the premiums. So is this right, if you have been or have a bankrupt per...

Last year was the 6 years post IVA so the time when my credit reference should be clear so I can start again, or so I thought… I checked my credit r...

The completion of the IVA is recorded against the IVA on the credit report. I will do waht you recommend for the dreditors. I don't mind the defaults, I made the mess up, I suffer the consequences. It's more having defaults on there 8 -> 9 years after I started the IVA. Why 6 years though, never ask...

I am aware that it would stay on my credit file. That's cool, a good reminder to not get in that situation again. It feels great to have it finished. Having it gone means even though i will still be paying off my friend I can now afford to take up my new job in Manchester. A whole new start [:D] I g...

Well I was wrong and the date was actually today. But i gave a call to my IVA company and got the news that the creditors have accepted. Just waiting on the paperwork to see if they will take the £500 I mentioned from the entire thing or whether it is an extra. I hope it's not extra, I should have c...

I have recently (as in today) accepted a new job and am moving to Manchester. I am hoperful that my F&F will be agreed on Monday and so at that point my IVA will end (once I have sent the F&F I mean)? So looking at properties in Macchester possibly for purchase would work about 3.5 times my current ...

Well I got the details in from the company. They have scheduled in a meeting for 20th August. Says a sum on £5500 and the supervisor shall be entitled to an additional £500 + VAT for costs of the meeting Don't know if that means I have to pay the fees or whether they are taken from the IVA funds? Ei...

I spoke to my IVA company and they say it is up to me whether I keep up the payments. Therefore, I think what I will do is not pay for the next two months but instead put those payments into a savings account. If the offer is rejected I can restart the payments and make up the arrears otherwise just...
