Hi all, been away from here for a while and am 4 years into a 6 year agreement. Time has flown and I have been managing to get by until now so hoping for a little advice. Last year I got a pay rise at work and my monthly contribution doubled. Fair enough as I knew that was the rules. However I am no...

Hi all, there was a time I would dread seeing the postman walking towards my door. Wondering what bill was coming through next. However today he brought a suprise. A letter from my good friends at hmrc saying they actually owed me money. With 2 weeks I will be in reciept of a cheque for £242. My que...

Hi PK, welcome aboard. No need to feel ashamed at how your debts have built up. We are all here for our own reasons but what matters is how you move forward for you and your family. I'm a year into my iva and it is not an easy path but knowing I have taken control is amazing and once my final paymen...

Hi mel, I was also put under alot of pressure to sign the paperwork from eif from debt free. I explained that I know I have never had ppi on my loans and cards. Dfd have now sent a letter stating that by being uncooperative I could be in breech of my agreement with them. I have now signed, just to s...

Same for me, I spent one day a month moving money from one card to another. I only ever made min payments so the banks and cc companies must of loved me. I got so fed up with treading water that an iva was a no brainer. Whilst I'm sorry I got into such a mess with money I'm pleased I made some calls...

Surely by using a middleman they will want a slice of the pie too so go direct to a few companies. Will be easier for you to deal direct with your ip if issues arise also

When I started my process I was with lloyds who was one of my creditors. They said to open an account with so wine that had no connection with any of my creditors as they may be able to go into the new account. After a long search I went for a nationwide account. Fantastic people to be with and no a...

Good luck but I'm sure it will be fine. This time last year I was in your boat and when you get that call to say everything is ok you'll have the world lifted off your shoulders. Just knowing your on the path to sorting out a bad situation will put a spring in your step

No pay rise unfortunately. Wish there was. I'm commission based income so iva was worked out on an average and is reviewed each year so payments can either be increased or decreased. Some months are slightly over and some are slightly lower. It's just a case of putting a bit by when over to support ...

Thanks everyone, I'm not sure she would let anyone else go near it but ill have a chat with the ip and see what happens. She has made many sacrifices in the last year so can't deny her a haircut when it's needed. I'm sure she would stretch it to 6 - 7 week appointments rather than the 4 - 5 week app...

Hey, Received letter regarding 1st review which is shortly due and in it was a copy of my I & E. looking back some of the figures are way out and I will need to amend them. For example food and household is £350. I have a partner who doesn't work as she looks after our 2 year old. As hard as we have...
