I realise that I don't post very much but I have found everyone on the forum to be so helpful and kind to everyone that posts here so a big thank you to everyone for that. I just wanted to share my news that I have received my certificate of completion. I have been incredibly fortunate to have the s...

Wow, thanks everyone and I am truly stunned anyone might read it amongst the spam posts that seemed more interesting than my blog! I tend to lurk a lot as I don't feel that qualified to offer advice on here but I enjoy reading the posts on the site and I am eternally grateful for everyone on here an...

NatWest allowed me to keep my basic account and e-saver account although it had been opened and used as a main account for at least 6 months before the IVA. The downside to this account is you have to use either RBS or NatWest cash machines only and you only get a debit card that is online only.

I was with StepChange for my DMP but I kept it running until the creditors had approved my IVA. However I didn't do the IVA with them so I don't think they were aware of it until I cancelled my DMP.

I may be wrong but I am sure on my log in it would only allow me to try to upgrade to a silver select account which is paid, not sure if it was different if you tried in branch. Then again it is entirely a non starter now anyway as I just got notification they know about my IVA from the IS and so I ...

I've also found Natwest to be very good with me and although it is not available on the basic account which I have, I don't think it is discriminatory in my own opinion. I am just grateful to have a free bank account with a decent internet option. Like all banks, everyone has a difference experience...

Glad to hear the IVA was accepted and although it is for the 6 years instead of 5, at least your father is not affected by it. Good luck with it all.

Sorry to hear of your difficult month, I hope things improve for you. Sometimes it just seems it is one thing after another. I found what really helped was a spends diary so I could see what was being spent daily and on what as it is quite scary how it can soon add up. If you are looking at the budg...
