Hi all :) Today, my partner and I both received a letter from a company called CCDS. Not sure how to attach a picture as I'm using my phone, but it's regarding our IVA. It says something along the lines of "if you are in a IVA or DMP you may have been mis-sold it and could be debt free quicker if yo...

That's strange - both me and my partner work for O2 and have several contracts with them in our names (for us and family) and haven't heard anything from them regarding the IVA. I wasn't even aware this was their policy - how did they even find out? Did you miss any payments? Surely the only people ...

I have pets and I smoke (although only when I'm at work which is two days a week - on average about 8 cigarettes per week, so it's voluntary really, not an addiction) and I have allowances for neither of these in my IVA. When I included these and a few other things that were in the budget guidelines...

Just used the search function (sorry) and saw someone mention that because it was worded as "compensation" and not a "refund", we may be able to keep any money owed as it will inevitably be less than £500. It'll probably be less than £100 to be honest! Opinions on this would be great :)

Hi all, I have just had a letter from a company called CPP. I used to have a card and/or ID protection policy with them, not 100% sure which credit card it was but it definitely was't one included in my IVA - it was one of my old credit cards that I paid off long before the IVA started. The letter s...

As First Direct were one of my creditors (I had an overdraft which formed part of the debt) then if I'd had any money left in that account they wouldn't have let me draw it out. Because I was into the overdraft, it would have technically been their money anyway. They said if any money was put into t...

Sally - Foggy is spot on there, I was with First Direct and one day they just called me up and said "I'm sorry but we are going to have to close your account with immediate effect as we have been informed that you are starting an IVA". I thought they had to give a certain amount of notice but it see...

This happened just up the road from me, last year. I didn't know him but a very sad story indeed. Whilst I don't personally agree with suicide, it's sad that he felt that it was the only solution to his problems. Pay day loans are a good concept but executed extremely poorly, and something needs to ...

Hi, I work for O2 and hopefully I can clear something up for you. If you take an additional line with O2 (as in tag another contract onto your existing one) then it does not carry out a credit check on you. The system will automatically check your that your billing history is in good health - usuall...

Well done abbiesmum, I've just paid my second payment too :)
I like the spreadsheet idea! Especially as we pay extra payments into our IVA quarterly which are varying amounts, that way I could easily keep track of how much we've paid in so far. I'm on it :)

I've kept hold of them and I will give my IVA company a call to ask for advice and see if there's anything they can do. I actually called them today to pay them half of my bonus but totally forgot to mention it! I'm useless on the phone!

Thanks Melanie, if we somehow end up with an increase then hopefully only 50% will be taken. If we end up earning less then we wouldn't be able to afford our IVA payments, but I have my fingers crossed it won't come to that. If I'd have known this was going to happen I may have put off applying for ...

I have been in an IVA for almost 2 months now but Shop Direct (I had accounts with Isme and Very) still keep sending me monthly statements saying I owe them X amount and I am X payments behind, and they are still adding non-payment fees and interest onto my account, and also PPI is still being charg...
