Thank you all, been in a few days now and love the new house, finally feels like the iva in the past and can stop worrying, still have to pinch myself sometimes to make sure it's not a dream.

Just an update, had a call from our house builder today to let us know they are serving us notice on Friday which means we will have two weeks to complete and will get the keys at the end of that 2 weeks if all goes ok! It was a broker that Taylor Wimpey recommended to us that they use for their properties, all this is making me very scared but will let everyone know in October if they change their minds, fingers crossed for me :)

Halifax were one of my creditors so even if the broker never passed on the information when submitting application I am hoping Halifax would have still known about it and rejected the applicatiob? At least I know I have never mislead them as we have told the broker about iva so have been completely ...

Sorry, not sure what you mean by vote? We told broker about iva who in turn had a chat with his contact at Halifax and they were fine about it, is that what you mean, sorry I might be completely misunderstanding.

Hi, I have had a full mortgage offer from Halifax. We finished our iva in January this year and had went to a broker who spoke to Halifax and they were happy to give us a mortgage in principal so full application was done and received the proper offer in writing in may. We are due to move in October...

Fingers crossed for you, we thought we were going to need the help to buy scheme but when we chatted to the house builder and broker found out we could get it without help to buy. We put down 10% deposit and the house builder gave us another 5% towards the deposit so when your ready definitely worth...

I would agree about speaking to a broker. We completed our iva in January this year and got a mortgage offer within a few months, contracts have been exchanged and as its a new build property we are just waiting for it to finish being built, hopefully moving in at the end of October.

Hi, it is worth asking other brokers, we have had a mortgage offer through a broker with 10% deposit. We are first time buyers so not sure if that's why and I guess it depends on other circumstances.

Would also say use a broker, we managed to get a mortgage offer a few months after our iva dropped off our record with a 10% deposit
