Thanks both

I plan on reducing cost of rent, council tax etc in order to accomodate the reduction in income to live on student finance for the 9 months of the course.

I am very much stuck in a dead end job so this course can only help my situation.

Heres hoping it works out.

Do any of you have experience of becoming a student while in an IVA. I am in the process of trying to get a place as a full time PGCE student. The course will start september and finish in June 2014. This will then hopefully improve my long term prospects for a stable and reasonably well paid job. I...

If you use the guidelines for a review do you have to prove you have spent as much as that. I have overspent on some areas and underspent others. I would like to have as much allowed as possible in order to survive in a comfortable fashion.

Sorry first year, still working out how it all works!!

Thanks for your responses. I am worried my payments will increase if we spend less. I need to stash any money to pay for the move!

Hi All

We can no longer stay in our rented property and are having to live in temporary accommodation while we try to find a decent local house.

If this changes all my expenditures will my payments need to change or do I leave it all as it is until my next review in January 2014.

Hi

I had a large tax credits overpayment included in my IVA and it has not affected my tax code.

Mine weren't intentional either, I always updated them any changes and have no idea how it happened.

Doing nothing is not an option I feel you should take. I suffer very badly with anxiety, my spending and lack of control was as a result of other stressful things happening in my life. The best thing you can do to reduce anxiety is to take control and most importantly ask for help. Take advice on th...

Hi Stepchange are funded by the banks etc so they will try and get the absolute most out of you. I went with Debt Free Direct who have varied feedback on here but have so far been brilliant. Stepchange calculated my payments at £350, DFD £120 and after the meeting my payment was agreed at £127. This...

Eke that doesn't sound good. Swift call to your IP I think.

My nemesis has been Barclaycard, they have persisted in contacting me and are rude and threatening. I have decided that if they want to take me to court that would be fine, like to see what a judge would make of their behaviour.

Hi All Thinking ahead to my review can anyone advise me on this... If you save money on the expenditure levels set when the IVA is created, when reviewed would the levels be dropped to match what is being spent. I am trying to save as much money as I can on monthly expenditure but worry that if the ...

I moved to Think Money and they have been fabulous, I pay a fee but am happy to do so for the service and the splitting of my account so that my bills are always paid and I will never get any fees or bounced payments.

Hi

I have a think money account now, have got used to not using cheques very easily and like that I can't bounce my direct debits. Great customer service, well worth the fee.
