Hi,

No news as yet. Been over a year, but there is now a waiting time of upto 18 months. On a more positive note, I won my own case against MBNA without having to resort to the FO.

How is your case going?

Hi Lunnmeister,

No news; last I heard my cases (the 3 against) HSBC is still in the queue to be looked at by the FO.

How is your case going?

Hi Skippy, Halifax have come up trumps and given us, well my husband a mortgage, in his name only without the need to credit check me or the like. RBS were happy to give us a mortgage on this basis too but their rate was slightly higher than Halifax, so Halifax it is. There is hope out there! Kate.

Hi there, Need to pick the brains of the forum! We are in the midst of applying for a mortgage. I say we, however due to my IVA history (completed in 2011) we have decided that the mortgage and title deeds will be in my husbands name only. Our mortgage broker has stated that only a few will accept t...

Hi, I completed my IVA with Freeman Jones in 2011 and can't fault the service that I got from them, including getting my completion certificate in just 8 weeks. You've got a good IVA, feeling great. You might find the paperwork a little daunting at first but don't worry, it ensures that no errors ar...

Hi jonjo1978,

Totally agree with you. My IVA was with Freeman Jones (completed back in 2011) and they were excellent at every step of the way. Credit where its due! :-)

Hi Lily-ST, Whilst I'm not an IP, I am an insurer (property underwriter). The insurance company will insist that the payout is used for the work needed to be done on your flat. The aim on the insurance payout is to reinstate your financial position in your flat (not in general) to what it was before...

I do remember reading that post, but can't remember all the circumstances. It is possible that the actually "PPI" part was used to offset against debt that the company still has incurred despite the IVA being completed. I made a successful PPI compliant against Egg, and was more than happy to let th...

Hi Mary.73, I too had a PPI claim against HSBC and they gave me the same excuse to deny the claim (and one of the loans was completed prior to the IVA). It appears to be their standard tactic now. I've sent my denied complaint to the Financial Ombudsman to resolve but it does take months, possibly l...

Hi Lunnmeister,

How are you?

No I haven't from HSBC or the FO - however I don't expect to until March/April time and then I'll give them a chase. The complaints procedure does take a fair amount of time.

How are things going with your complaint?

My complaint to the FO went in on the 4th of October and after some to and throwing of the information they require, the investigation started on 5th of December. The FO state that it csn take anywhere from 3 months to over year for the more complicated cases. A point worth noting is that the FO cam...

Hi,

I completed my IVA in June 2011 with Freeman Jones (whom I can't recommend highly enough), and it is customary for them to ask you for those things as they keep a close eye on all bills. Its probably better in the long run as it helps to avoid any miscaluations of monies due.

Hi, I've had the same issue with HSBC for a complaint against misselling of PPI on a loan (definitely missold) started after IVA finished in June 2011 and 72p in the £ repaid and was given the same phrase: "We ackowledge that the IVA has been completed and discharged, however when you entered into i...
