Melanie.a - I am very sorry to hear about your situation, from what I read on your other post, looks like you've tried your hardest to get back on track, and I hope something can be remedied. From my own - I am awaiting to hear from compliance team at PP which will determine whether or not I will ne...

Remembered another one: I collect Tesco clubcard points which then convert into BA airmiles, it reduces the price of tickets if collected enough miles to cover your destination, so you only pay taxes. I found this very helpful

If the IVA is extended, will it continue showing on the credit reports beyond the 6 year mark until it ends, or will it drop off regardless 6 years after the original start date?

I was told, you can as I made enquiries before. You can be a director of a limited company, as well as a sole trader, but will need to be able to maintain IVA from your income from your business basically.

what happens if IVA fails? as far as I can see from my statements it looks like the bulk of IP fees were collected from year 1 payments, so I would have paid his fees then, not creditors if it failed now?

unless the house is owned outright, in which case it will, but if it is and there is enought equity to cover the debt, it's better to re-mortgage than do IVA in my opinion as likelihood of re-mortgaging whilst in IVA is pretty much zero if things continue the way they are

I opened Barclays account whilst in IVA, got everything in the branch there and then, even £10 reserve which is like an overdraft. The good thing about Barclays is that if you pay the cheque in, you can draw against it straight away without waiting for it to clear. Obviously, if you are sure if won'...

Kazmo - on a seperate note, NatWest are most definetely NOT helpful banking, whether it's being part of RBS that determines their draconian policies, I don't know but to give you an example: they charge £6 A DAY in unarranged overdraft fees for as long as the account remain overdrawn on top of the i...

I didn't know that but that would explain why, looking yesterday at all my paperwork going back to the start of the IVA, the creditors received surprisingly small proportion of the huge amount of what I actually paid in, which was nearly £700 per month. Also, makes me wonder just how stupid those cr...

Yes, I heard this on the news about minimal pricing for alcohol in Scotland, and thought it was outrageous. Will this affect the price of whiskey in England, I wonder? I hope not, I need my Glenlivet!

Well, my non expert view on this - just go for it, you may owe creditors money but you don't owe them your life, so noone can or should put a stop to your trying to improve your prospects. When I tool out IVA I put a stop to my vacation in favour of a 'sensible' job which didn't work out anyway and ...

Well, I got a response that my email has been passed to the compliance team who will contact me to discuss my complaint....not a word about putting my offer to settle though. Not sure why exactly they treat my email as a complaint, I did ask some direct questions that IP should be able to answer if ...
