Thank you for all your advice, I will give my IVA company a ring, it doesnt feel right to stop paying it as the other company suggested, and I certainly could do without the stress of phone calls from debtors again.
Where the hell did they get my name and address from? Begs the question of privacy.

The problem is that I do owe less than £15,000, have no assets and live in a rented property, I have an income that isnt going to go up at all as I am retired, and I have had a rent rise from £385 per month to £500, so I can only pay the rent and the IVA if I dont buy food. The rent rise has really ...

I have had a letter from National Debt Line, who tell me that if I fail on my IVA I can apply for a Debt Relief Order where I will be debt free in 12 months. Does anyone know anything about this?

I found Morrisons the cheapest for me, but I dont buy everything from there, I find it cheaper to shop in some small shops, ie. veg and fruit and the local butcher. I tend to buy when things are on offer although with Morrisons I tend to watch offers carfully, sometimes they work out more expensive....

Its only a week in our well used and a bit battered tent, probably somewhere quiet where we can enjoy the peace and quiet countryside of this beautiful island of ours, but I cant wait.

Hello ladybare It takes guts to take responsibility and do something about it. If somebody loves you enough they will accept your commitment to put things right and will admire your determination. It is scary at first but I have found that taking one step at a time and dealing with whats in front of...

There is always something positive to be found in what seems like a negative. After years of adiction to alcohol, I now have a choice of buying it or saving for a much needed holiday. The holiday is winning and the alcohol craving is diminishing. Being in control, even if money is limited, is feelin...

Thanks for your advice Bradders, I have already explored this avenue, with a small movement on the rise, they originally wanted £500.

So doing what you suggested does work to a degree and is worth trying.

I have phoned my IP this morning and she was lovely, she did the best she could to help and suggested some things I might do. Im still in shock about the huge rent rise, but at least I can now see a way through to possibly dealing with it. Thanks everybody for your help, still not sure how I will ma...

Iknew a rent rist would come at this time, but its always a rise of a few pounds, £20 at the most, which I could have absorbed with a few savings here and there. But a a rise of £75 is a huge shock, its out of character as our landlord usually takes into consideration how much work we do at the prop...

Thank you for your answers The IVA is in my name only, my husband is not involved in it. I owe a total of around £12,000 and pay back at £100 a month. I wouldnt fail on my IVA even if I have to go without food and heat to do it I wont let it fail. Im just at my wits end. I really dont want to go ban...
