Totally understand and in the circumstances you describe then I would have to agree. ALthough each inheritance situation is different and the amounts concerned can vary. I suppose all I am saying is judge what you may or may not get and perhaps explain your situ before hand and let them make there m...

Yes you would pay them. If you were clear and free then it's almost 100% you would. If you could no doubt you would pay to a manageable limit and reduce your payments. I am sure you would by yourself something as well. However, circumstances are different now. Your in an IVA. No matter what you pay ...

The moral of this story is if you maybe fortunate to be left anything for whatever reason. Make sure you know about it and the amounts involved. Make arrangements for another family member or friend to benefit as you cant. The free spirit of the person leaving you something surely could can not conf...

Dont get me wrong I totally agree. But I agreed to adhere to the rules and I also agreed to terms. So to did my creditors. Or the percentage that counted. This included terms that protected me (reduced payments in time of hardship and so on) So I am going to fight for what I signed up for. Even if t...

I find this all rather confusing?? IVA mentors point towards the money going yet IVA artisans point to a silver lining?? I would like to think that the artisans are correct. However, why is there no silver lining from the IVA mentors?? the £5k is interesting reading? Is this statutory or a guidline ...

Out of all my creditors Barclays were the worst. I was hounded to the point of stalking. I had phone call after phone call. At my meeting for the IVA it was Barclays who seemed to be the most militant. Even though there interest was not the largest. I felt I got no support from Barclays through my w...

This all seems mad!!! Creditors take there due and so to do IP's. Be very careful with any windfull and carefully consider your position and not anyone elses. I seem to read some very nice comments which I can consider genuine about IVA's and IP's however, I am a sceptic due to my own circumstances....

I did contact my IP who went very quiet and said that I would have to phone back on settlement. As it depends on the payment?? I dont think I will fully ever get paid for my injuries and I still have problems. I dont really want to fight this with the insurance company if it is all going to creditor...

Hello, Do IP's have a vested interested to keep payments high and not revalue or reduce payments? My point is if I was to come into some money due to pain or suffering would the IP be better off to make me hand it over?? Do they receive a percentage of any additional payments made? Also why would th...

Hello, After reading a previous forum subject I noticed that you can change your IP? Is this difficult? What would be the main reasons for this? Would it cost? I sometimes get the feeling that I am second rate citizen with my IP and that they are doing me a favour. Although they are providing a serv...

Hello, I have recently been in a car accident and I am awaiting a payment for whiplash injuries. Around £2000-2500 Does this information need to be disclosed and does it need to be paid across to the IP? As this is an injury claim I would class it as a windfall? Your help would be most appreciated.
