Congratulations. I must say, we were very lucky and our IVA's (interlocking) were relatively smooth when compared to others. We too were with DFD and appear to have had a similar experience as yourself. Enjoy your debt free life.

Congratulations on being debt free, and well done to Creditfix for the speed in issuing your certificate. They appear to receive a lot of bad press, but in your case they appear to have excelled themselves.

Also if you own your own property there will be a equity release clause. You must read all the proposal thoroughly and be sure you understand the terms. A lot of people get caught out, because they are so relieved to get some help and support that they fail to read the proposal properly then get cau...

Does that mean if all ppi claimed would be used until 100p/£ is achieved then anything over would be paid back to the client. If all ppi was realised and the funds still did not reach 100p/£ then the IVA would be over, but with no funds returned to the client. I was under the impression that they wo...

I was offered a car loan from Car Loans 4U shortly after completing my IVA. I did inform them that I just come out of an IVA. They provided me with a loan at a competitive high street rate through Barclays Finance. This was back in 2011. Think I had received my Completion certificate before I applie...

The purpose of an IVA is to pay as much as you possibly can for a 5 or 6 year period, and only at the end of that term, are any monies written off. I you fail to inform you IP of your change of circumstances, then you breach your IVA and it could fail, putting you back to square one. Openness and ho...

This is rather strange, as when we extended in lieu of equity, a variation meeting had to be called for the creditors to agree to the extension. So it doesn't sound like you have officially extended for the 12 months. If you pay by standing order, did you not contact your IVA company to clarify your...

I wasn't aware of the new protocols, and having already finished my IVA they will not affect me. But I do like to keep up to date with this site and offer support where I can. When did the new protocols regarding the need to acquire a secured loan come into force?

I commenced my IVA in 2005 and completed following a year's extension in lieu of equity in 2011. From the outset I was with DFD after seeing their adverts on the TV. I must stress that my case was quite straight forward with little variation to our payments. At that time I would have recommended DFD...
