@Katy, I guess the companies handling IVAs aren't in any particular hurry to close IVAs off. They've had their money, and it isn't their lives being negatively impacted by any delays.Totally wrong that's for sure, and what really annoys me is their lack of communication to let clients know what's go...

cheers everybody - called up my IVA company to see if they have recieved the cheque today and they are on holiday till 2nd jan. I was told previously to cancel my standing order and wanted to confirm, as it should ahve gone out on 1st. will have to wait now and see what they say

Thanks all! am so happy have bought a Tesco Value curry and naan bread meal for tea!! these habits are going to stick with me for ever (as I am sat in a fluffy onesie and no heating on and hood up!)

After severla months waiting- my Creditors meeting was today and I have just found it that they have accepted my Full and Final offer!! YIPEEEEEE, so December was my last payment - it means I can pay off my overdraft when I get paid and be clean for January and have some spare cash!

ok, so I have spoken to my case handler today and she advised me to put (like above) that I have 22 months left of my plan and that I am unlikely to get a re mortgage so offer then 22 months, plus 12 additional months at my current rate £292.00 pm(that would be approx £10k) and see what they say. am...

if so - it would add a further £2000 in year one, etc, so that is adding to my debt - I wish I had questioned this initially - as i thought all interest on the balances etc were frozen, oh dear! I thought I had paid a third off and by year 5 would have paid two thirds off, so only had £10k to find -...

I am with payplan and when my car needed some work - they allowed me to have 2. I had to add the cost of these on top of my monthly amounts (thanks Mum!! for the extra cash) they wouldn't let me add it to the end of the plan - but it helped me at the time

Hi,
my IVA says if I can't get a re mortgage to release the funds, my IVA is extended by 12 months. I am hoping I can re mortgage at the end so I can clear it all off, but who would remortgage knowing £15k extra is going out on an IVA?

Try going to your local TV shop - alot of the large older silver tv's are still in good working order and people just trade them in to get flat screens. They will probably be grateful for you to take them off their hands
