Hi There, I completed my IVA in August last year, and after months of waiting for my completion certificate, Kingsgate informed me it'll be with me by the end of the month. Q1. Could you recommend any companies that do Car Loans with people just coming out of IVA. (I spoke to Moneybarn last year who...

Just to let you know Andy, I spoke to Moneybarn yesterday, they recommend that you look for a car to the value of £5,500-£6,000 min, as they will always consider a sell-on value once it leaves the forecourt. I must also add that their customer service is excellent and they have also added that 90% o...

Thanks Andy for the information.
Interesting thing is that one car I was looking at is £4995, five years old and only 20,000 on the clock and Moneybarn have stated they only lend up to £5000 if accepted.
So I will certainly call them as I suspect they may be slightly flexible.

Morning all I have just finished my IVA in July 2013 and am still awaiting my completion certificate. Need to potentially upgrade my car, I have heard very good things about Moneybarn being able to help people with poor credit/IVA's. I was just wondering if anyone on the forum can comment on Moneyba...

A quick question to the experts.
I am 3 payments away from finishing my IVA. In the 4 annual reviews I have submitted payslips, p60's, I just wondered what will happen in the final year and whether I submit anything else. I am not a homeowner and fortunately still in the same job.

My car is facing more repairs on Friday and my mechanic advised me that if it is too much, then to get another car. Can I get an Hire Purchase agreement on a car if I need to whilst being in an IVA. I have four payments left on my IVA and I know it won't affect my future payments, so any advise woul...

Must admit my final payment is in July 2013, and I have already been told by Kingsgate that it'll take at least two months to get a completion certificate (c.c) I did ask them if I can go ahead and get a car-loan after my last payment and they said that as long as I inform them whilst I wait for c.c...

Hi Jeano99, It'll be best if I give you a approx timeline. I applied at the start of June 2008, and gave them the relevant bank statements, wageslips. It took about a month to get going after my initial paperwork got sent and I did find myself chasing them up. After that I can't fault what they did ...

Hi Chezza, My turn to apologise for not responding. Just checking my posts and saw your comments. I've been told by Kingsgate that my last payment is on 02 July, but I am guessing that as my anniversary isn't till Sept, that I won't get a completion certificate until at least then. However, Kingsgat...

Am I'm assuming if you are in negative equity, then you don't have to use it for your IVA?
I live at home with my Mother, so don't own a property.
Counting down the months now and then I can purchase a newer car, as mine will cost a fair bit to put through it's MOT today.

Well I hope so, after tomorrow I'll have 11 payments left, I can't wait till it finishes, but their is always a part of me that wonders if some loophole will be mentioned. But having spoken to Kingsgate they assured me that as long as I don't lose my job and things remain the same, then it'll finish...
