So to the point of my question. Its possible a family member whos come into some money might be able to offer a lump sum on the condition its accepted as a F&F by my creditors. I would simply continue to make monthly payments to my relative instead of the IVA. Less stress for me and the F&F will (if...

To the experts I have a nasty historyof heart disease in my family. To this end im looking into taking out private health insurance. I have up to 4 years of my IVA left. How do creditors view private health insurance? Will it be deemed a "luxury" and argued that the cost of it should go into the IVA...

I had a similar situation. With authorisation from your IP the "arrears" so to speak will simply be bolted on to the end of the IVA. In my case the IVA has a maximum life span of 72 months so if the payment break i took cant be equalized in this period due to I&E reasons then my IP said they would l...

If a F & F is accepted say 3 years into an IVA and consequently the IVA is concluded does the adverse credit rating remain until the 6th anniversary of the date of the IVAs inception or does it remain for 12 months proceeding the closure of the IVA???

My IVA states that there will be equity release of 18k. That wont happen in this climate. On further reading it also states that the agreement shall last no longer than 72 months.

Does that mean even if the equity cannot be released then the life span remains as 72 months as the paperwork reads??

I don't think there is a legal maximimum. Melanie had one once over 17 years. Thats shocking!! I was never told that when i entered my arrangment. Surley the creditors would be happy for the IVA to continue forever untill they get as much back as possible. Why would any IVA then finish after 5-6 ye...

Thanks for your replies... If we cant re-mortgage then we will continue for an extra year with the IVA. I would much prefer this as opposed to being forced into a position where we have to borrow even more money. Even if this meant we would pay slightly less per month in our overall expenditure than...

(House is worth approx 280k) We pay interest only on this due to affordability reasons. I dont want to re-mortgage any more credit against o...
