You will have to disclose if you had an IVA in the past on any mortgage application anyway regardless whether it shows up on a search.

Andy's advice to go to a whole of market broker is correct as they will be able to advise who may consider lending to you.

Well finally my IVA journey has come to an end. GT finally sent my completion documentation 17 months after my last payment was made and my case is now closed. Yay! Checked my credit files and everything is gone except the fact I had an IVA which will come off shortly. No defaults on file! It's been...

We had our son during my IVA - he's now 4 and the centre of our world.
The IVA is temporary and a new life is far more important.

My IVA final payment was in April 2012. No completion certificate yet (with GT) but it's coming soon. Checked my credit file this week and my defaults have gone. So applied for a Vanquis card and was accepted! Can finally start rebuilding my credit score. Of course I'll never do anything other than ...

I don't think they will say yes to anyone still in an IVA or less than one year post IVA. I completed my IVA just over a year ago (no completion certificate yet but that's another story!). 6 months after my final payment I applied for a credit card with Vanquis and was turned down as I guess all my ...

Well well well, GT replied to my chasing e-mail the day after I sent it. They have promised my Completion Certificate within 6-8 weeks and that there is nothing holding it up now.

A well done for a prompt response and fingers crossed I can finally start to move on.

Hi Melanie, I suspect EIC and PPI claims stuff - although I told EIC over a year ago in writing there was nothing to claim they have continued to bombard me with paperwork and phone calls. I'm guessing I'll just have to wait my turn given all the stuff I've read about delays with GT on this forum bu...

I think this relates to 6 years after the IVA starts, not when it finishes. It's normally 5 years for the IVA and then 1 year after that until the debts on your credit file are shown as 'satisfied' - so 6 years in total. I would check with a whole of market broker as previously advised if you are pa...

Ryan is brilliant!

Sorted us out a mortgage using my wifes property as security and we can now extend.

Would recommend him to anyone - I thought we couldn't get the money we needed but I was wrong!

I need advice on whether I am likely to be able to get a mortgage post-IVA (ends this month). I have a good job and income but obviously a terrible credit history at the moment. My wife has a small amount of income and owns our house (not part of the IVA) but probably not enough income to re-mortgag...

Thought I'd update my attempts to get a debit card.

Not happening at the moment - Abbey turned me down for an account.

Going to wait a month and then apply to Clyesdale but not holding out much hope!
