Hi there, We completed our IVA at the end of March and yesterday received our completion certs. It has taken just short of 5 months and I can honestly say no hassle with DFD during our 6 years with them. If there have been any probs they've sorted them out quickly and efficiently. Thanks to Ashley R...

Hi, They said as long as my payments into the IVA could continue and we could afford it that was fine. Originally our old car payments were taken into account as we commenced the IVA but when completed we were supposed to increase payments. I think we were lucky that we always got a pay rise or prom...

Hi there, I managed to get a loan whilst in IVA from Moneybarn - used to be Dunctons. Just needed permission and IP was fine about it. I don't think anyone on here has been refused by there IP as far as I've seen over the years. Mine was a 4 year and payments £243 per month which is due to complete ...

Thanks for that GLA! Affordability will not be a problem as fortunately our salaries have increased over the last 6 years and our saving on the IVA is almost a wage in itself! It's the deposit that will take the time to accumulate and we have very little equity! If it takes a while for a new house t...

Hi GLA, I'm very interested in your contribution! I have just completed my IVA and I am desperate to move house due to expanding family in the last 10 years. I was considering a new buy scheme if possible. Did you use a broker to obtain your mortgage or go straight to the lender? My CC should be wit...

Hi Everyone, Well finally after 6 years and 3 months we are all finished paying our IVA to DFD! Yippee!! It has all been quite straight forward with a couple of hiccups along the way due to needing another car and paying extra in lieu of equity. We've had our final statement which shows we've paid b...

I had to pretend to the estate agent I was considering a sale but got the valuation no problem and forwarded it to DFD. This was only last year.

Hi Til,

Mine was the same however they overvalued my property and expected 6 more payments to cover. I challenged it with a local estate agent valuation and it was reduced to 3 extra months instead.

Hope you get sorted!

Hi there,

There are a few companies which will lend to you whilst in an IVA however the interest rate is high. I'm with moneybarn and hoping to pay them off early due to end of IVA .

Hii there, Our HP payments were factored into our IVA however I changed jobs and was allowed a car on lease through work. I changed to a different job and was allowed to buy a car on HP again so I would check with your own IP as even though the payments would have been well finished and more money c...

Hi there,

I have been reassured (in an e-mail) by DFD that when the equity clause has already been dealt with it is just relating to PPI and getting closure so I am happy to sign mine but every case is individual so please check with them.

I have 1 more payment to make to them!

Not sure if my IP knows our tax position as I'm on normal rate but OH is now on 40% which is in a completely different position to when we started the IVA.

Hi Foggy,

They are two separate things but looks like if you don't sign new T & C's the I.P. will not be able to conclude until all financial claims are resolved.

So in answer to your question they are in effect intertwined.

That's my take on it anyhow.

Hi I have read this thread with interest and I am in a similar position of my IVA coming to an end but PPI is still outstanding. I too was worried about my property, (where equity has already been sorted and I'm paying an extra 2months) becoming an asset where they could potentially ask for equity a...

This is a very interesting thread as I am also with DFD! We are due to complete March 2014 as we had a 2 month payment break out of a 6-year IVA. I contacted DFD by e-mail for confirmation on the date I need to cancel S/O with bank which was confirmed. In the e-mail, they informed me that closure wi...
