Before I had bucked up the courage to admit I was in a pickle and sought help I had never heard of an IVA, I believed that BR was my only route out of the mess. Once I had spoken to someone at B & E and found how supportive and knowledgeable they were I had a feeling that all was going to be sorted....

I have seen records of firms asking for 5-10% pay reductions, but 40-50% seems almost criminal to me! Smacks of his firm thinking they have "the upper hand" and using heavy handed scare tactics to make a bigger profit come April and as normal at the expense of the workers. However my ratings are not...

I think your IP will go along with this idea, it's not like you want to do something to increase your outgoings. I think you may be being a bit optimistic in thinking you could hand over another £100 a month though, maybe £70 [;)][;)]

I am with B E and had my first one in December. All I received was my initial I&E and a blank I&E to fill out with any revised costs. I haven't heard anything back from them since I posted it back to them though.

It is amazing reading the replies and seeing just how honest (I don't know if "honest" is the right term though) everyone has got over paying back our debts. I would be in more of a sweat if I had an extra £30 let alone a big windfall, hiding it would be the last thing on my mind.

Can the creditors issue BR proceedings against you while in an IVA? Surely that would be up to your IP to fail the IVA then? How helpful is your IP being in this matter? 'stuff' like this really needs you to speak directly with them, bypass the front of business staff and arrange a meeting with your...

I was in the same situation in Oct last year, you won't find any underwriters who are willing to refinance you (I certainly didn't). The agreement to refinance was also agreed with my IP prior to the IVA, but obviously they won't help in any way. Them (the IP) agreeing to the refinance and the prosp...

After only the first year into my IVA I have a nagging feeling that this may just turn into a way of life, no credit that is. Once my IVA is finished I am going to be, pretty much, £500 a month better off than at present. I have had a great Christmas without spending money that I will owe back at so...

I pretty much feel like that myself, the dread of Christmas last year is a dim memory now. The joy of this Christmas is still flowing, can't wait to see what the big guy in red has for me [:D]. I actually feel happier with the little we have than what we used to go through to "feel good". Great post...

Thank God for Christmas markets [:)] I was in Germany for 11 years when in the Army and got fond of Currywurst sauce, which you can not buy in the UK. The bloke who comes over from Germany to Liverpool to set up his stall has for the last 3 years brought an extra couple of 1L bottles of sauce with h...
