I think you're taking it a tad personally. I was referring to the thread as a whole.

There have been many reports of malpractice by some firms documented on here that needs to be the focus.

Cleardebt are an excellent company who take a sensible approach to the completion process. DRSP have asked for a lot of information some of it duplicated but in fairness they can only go off the info they were provided with in the first place. It's very hard to dig up credit agreements from years an...

Yes, that's what I meant. And while there are a lot of people on here seeking reassurance, I'm not sure splitting hairs is particularly helpful. There is no reason why some people are being made to extend their payments or still have to declare windfalls etc. This seems to differ from IP to IP and t...

There's nothing in the insolvency act to state they can do that. I cannot see anything in the IVA Protocol either. You sign up for 60 months, that's what you pay, no more. I'd like to see the IP that has the balls to fail an IVA after a debtor has paid 60 months. And the judge who makes the call on ...

Hi, I should have received my completion certificate in April but due to the ongoing saga with this, it is delayed indefinitely, although I'm told only one creditor are dragging their heels finding out whether I have a claim. My advice to people in the same boat is don't panic. It will get you nowhe...

Thanks, its inconceivable for an IVA to fail at this stage I would have thought? And are you given time to pay any extra amounts?

Hi, my IVA is complete pending PPI investgations. The only thing is I work in sales and I'm waiting the outcome of a final review to establish if I owe any extra funds. I don't believe I do as I have paid more into the IVA than was anticipated at the start. I'm just concerned that I might get hit wi...

Hi, I've recently submitted documents for my final review before completion. If there is any surplus income due after the review, how long do you usually have to pay it? I find it inconceivable that an iva could fail after 60 payments have been made. I work in sales so I've asked my Ip to calculate ...

Cleardebt. Just concerned because I read all sorts of things about people not receiving their completion certificates for ages. does the final review tend to be of the last year or the last 5 years?

Thanks, that's really helpful and good to know. I'm nearly halfway through now and was thinking of the future. I'll be 33 when I complete the IVA and I need to start thinking about being in a strong position financially. Positive thinking gets you through this - failure isn't an option ;)

Hi, does being in an IVA prevent you from setting up any kind of savings account, ISA or pension? Obviously, it would not affect the monthly contribution. Thank you

Hi, I've just had my 2nd I&E review completed and I saw on the paperwork that only 3 creditors out of the 6 I was in debt with had made a claim. What does this mean and what happens should the other 3 make their claims? I owed £10k on one and they have yet to make a claim. Can these creditors conta...
