Hi, I finished my IVA early over a year ago now and have previously recieved some fantastic help on this forum. I have checked my credit file at credit expert (experian) today and have found some things i'm not sure of. I have 2 items that were covered by my IVA on there that have been satisfied by ...

Thanks Kallis3, Thats really not good news. How much of a deposit do you think I would need to buy a property for £60,000. I presumed that a mortgage of £48,000 (60 minus the 20% deposit) would not have been much of a risk. That said I know nothing about this sort of thing so it was probably wishful...

Hi, I finished my IVA in September (Completed 2 and a half years early). My credit file now says satisfied and I have no other debts. I am now interested in buying a house and have seen one for £60,000 that would be suitable. I have searched the internet and all I seem to find is specialist mortgage...

Thought I'd give you an update about my situation as you were all really helpful (especially Michael Peoples who is a legend). My IVA people had the creditors meeting yesterday and the upshot is that they approved the final settlement of £5000 so I'm massively pleased. Thank you all again for your h...

latest update. I rang them this afternoon. They said they had not had time to look at the proposal fully but will try to ring me by wednesday. The person i spoke to said that they thought it might have a reasonable chance of succeeding. One thing they said got me a bit worried though.. I've not paid...

Just an update to this really. I sent the letter of to the person who deals with my IVA advising her that I wished them to offer a f&f settlement to my creditors. I've not heard a thing back from them so far. How long do these things usually take? I'm hoping no news means good news.

Michael, I have done a revised income / outgoings statement on a excel spreadsheet for what will happen when the baby comes. I dont suppose you (or anyone else who has experience of these things) could have a quick look and see if its reasonable? Stu - I'm taking your advice and currently composing ...

Hi, I've completed a review already which the company has got back but they say they are not going to look at it until July. When I completed the review they told me to complete the review sheet ignoring the pregnancy issue but to just include a note to say it was happening and then when the baby wa...

Hi, I'm with X-Debt. They all seem nice and I've no problem with them at all. Guess I'm just going to have to wait till July when they do my review. stu287 - Thanks for the advice, most appreciated. Would it be a good idea if I was to write a similar letter to my debt company suggesting the revised ...

Hi all, Spoke to the debt people today. They said that they would not be able to look at anything until my review in July. The woman i spoke to said that if the offer was not acceptable they could lower the payments but extend the IVA. The thought of having the iva extended is horrendous so if its n...

Hi, thanks for all your help guys! From what you say then it seems that an offer of £5,000 would be refused as its not near the original dividend? Or am i missunderstanding this? Also, surely it is better for the creditors to get something back off me because when the baby comes its highly likely th...

Thank you Lesley. I will give them a ring about it! Do you think the figure I quoted (£5k) would be enough as a settlement (or could it even be too much? - I think I already know the answer to that though [:D]). Don't want to sound stupid on the phone to the debt people when I ring! Your help is muc...
