Hi Dave

My parents are also both retired and it was a requirement that they owned their own home!

I found it surprisingly simple and the agents we used were very understanding and not at all bothered that we were in an IVA.

Hi There We are in the exact same position as you are. We have been in an IVA for almost a year and our landlord indicated that he wanted to sell the house we have been renting for three years. I contacted a couple of agencies and they either want you to pay six months upfront (who can do that?) or ...

Hello Accuma

We were looking to that option if my husband didn't find a job but he started a new one today! I think two months would suffice.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your reply Melanie

We do not have a case manager, you just deal with whoever answers the phone. It is hard to get through to our supervisor as the staff always try to put you off. I have an email address for her and have also sent her a letter, there's not much more I can do.

Many thanks for your comments!

We had to miss June as well but that was authorised with the admin staff before hand. July will be the second payment.

We are with Accuma who have been very helpful but I have only every spoken to my Supervisor once when things went wrong before.

Hello All As per my previous posts last week, I have been trying to arrange a payment break for two months for house move, loss of job and so on but cannot get hold of my supervisor! The staff are very helpful but just quote rules at you and are powerless to make decisions. We have been trying for a...

Is it correct that payment breaks (up to three) can be added to the end of the arrangement ie ending in 63 months and not 60?

Our supervisor says that this cannot be done and arrears have to be paid back asap.............how can you pay arrears back when you have no extra money????

Hi All Have been in an IVA for almost a year. Had a payment break in June as my husband lost his job and his employer deducted sick leave off leaving us about £270 short. His four weeks notice money has just been paid with deductions of almost £500 sick and commission clawbacks leaving us in a bit o...

Hi all
Hi all

You are both right about the existing line but we are with Virgin Media at the moment and they do not have cable where we are moving. So this is in effect a new account.

Hi all

Just rang BT and anyone in an IVA can have a line with broadband if they pay £50 upfront which is refunded at the end of 12 months of service together with interest!!!

Hello All Many thanks for all your answers to my question last week on payment breaks with our IVA for our forced house move. We rang Accuma and have arranged a break this month which helps enormously. Another small query, as we are moving to a new house, we will need to set up a new BT line for acc...
