Hi all, I am in a joint IVA with my wife, she only works regular hours 5 -6 hours pw at the moment at a school but having just qualifed as a Teaching Assistant there is a possibility she will get a new post in September and be earning around 4 x more than at present. Obviously we would declare the c...

Hi, Trying to find cheapest way of getting some gifts for Xmas whilst of course maintaining my IVA payments, I have seen a very good voucher to use on a certain website but it can only be used if you set up a credit account (albeit 0% interest). Now, I know that if I tried I would probably be reject...

Hi all, Well after months of preparation our creditor's meeting was last Tuesday and all approved with a few modifications relating to Practitioners fees. We have now received the modifications and the chairman's report - we were told that not all Creditors voted and not to worry about this, & indee...

When my proposal was worked out the yearly figure was divided by 12 so the fact that's got to be paid in 10 months means we'll be paying each month a little more than the figure quoted but does mean that we'll in effect 'save' for the 2 free months by paying that little extra. Can I also ask then o...

Thanks, I actually meant that would it be worthwhile declaring the monthly payment as a ten payment agreement at £22 per month? Then again, when bearing in mind the initial deposit paid, this is maybe just a little too fiddly and I am thinking maybe best to simply leave at £20 per month as this roun...

Thanks all!
I guess on that basis I should tell my proposer that my monthly car insurance payments are £22 per month (again over 10 months although I paid £19 initial deposit) rather than the £20 I had advised, after I had added the initial deposit and divided by 12? Is this worthwhile?

Hi all, My proposal is due a couple of amendments then ready to sign and await Creditors meeting date! However can anyone advise what happens to the surplus in months 11 and 12 of a 10 month direct debit Council tax arrangement in an IVA? I did ask CCCSVA nearer the beginning of the process about th...

Thanks Melanie, I will check it all again carefully later. Can anyone tell me if you can ask for a review of payments into an IVA if mortgage payments rise? And, would the upgrade of the bank account to one which included a free overdraft count as additionla credit taken withiin the past 12 months? ...

Hi all, Received my proposal from CCCSVA today - on initial check doesn't seem to mention anything re. annual reviews; also points out I may have difficulty paying into IVA if mortgage rate rises, but can such a rise be reported to the IP to see if an adjustment can be made though? (I'm sure credito...

Hi all, IVA just being proposed, but as far as possible equity release from re-mortgaging my house is concerned in year 4, I have a part interest only / part repayment mortgage and the mortgage terms state that I have to pay back the lender 35% of the increase in value of the property when redeeming...

Blimey, thats a bit worrying - on the one hand saying Creditors cannot force you to sell your home, but on the other saying if you have equity and cannot remortgage (I imagine this is not unusual when you are in an IVA situation?) then you would have to release it by selling! Somewhat contradictory?...

Sarah, Thanks for your response, I did call CCCSVA today and speak to an advisor - who told me all info / docs.now received from me appear to be in order and IVA proposal being drafted at the moment. Seemed a bit more clued up than the advisor whom I spoke to last week but still could give no defini...

Melanie, This advice was I think actually from the CCCSVA IP! Your clarification re. rise in disposable income is very helpful, is this fairly standard across IVA's? Anyway, I will try to speak with them this week for some clarification, in the meantime can anyone tell me if any permanent rise in di...
