I didn't miss any of my repayments right up to the end, however, was paying for day to day items on credit cards and my minimum repayments accounted for 90% of my income, so decided I was effectively insolvent as I wasn't able to continue to service the high levels of debt. Most of my creditors were...

Thanks for your responses folks!! I rather naively didn't think of the banks own records and that they may have shared the info with others. The difficulty I have is that, in having debts with Natwest, Lloyds TSB and M&S Money, I can't bank with Lloyds TSB, Halifax, Natwest, RBS or HSBC (as they pur...

Don't worry, my creditors defaulted my accounts up to 4 months after the IVA had started, I then wrote to them once the IVA had completed and now all removed!! Hurrah!
The time soon goes by, you'll soon be debt free!

Hi Everyone, It's been sometime since I have been on the forum. Hopefully, someone will be able to help with my query. My IVA ended in March 2010, and I have worked hard ensuring the IVA register has my IVA removed and the Defaults are removed from the credit files with Experian and Equifax (all cle...

I think it should be private. I understand banks and credit providers need to know if you are insolvent, however, it shouldn't be open to all. That said, no one knew I was in an IVA (I worried people at work would find out) and within a few weeks of my IVA completing, the record is removed from the ...

Try the Co-op bank (CashMinder) or Yorkshire Bank (ReadyCash) both have proper debit cards (Co-op Visa Debit and Yorkshire Maestro).
I had a similar problem whilst in my IVA and I used CashPlus, I had £100+ of debits taken and managed to dispute and get it all back.

Congratulations!!
I was also with DFD and my IVA ended in March 2010. My certificate took about 6 weeks, and this was with Declan's assistance (much appreciated Declan!!)
With regards the Insolvency Register, your name should now be removed? I was off there about month after the IVA had ended.

Thanks Jan.
Is there a risk the creditor may close the account on the person in the IVA?
I had always understood you could not bank with your exisiting creditors?
