I to am with Melanie and her team. People deal with the calls in different ways. I contacted Melanie and her team and sorted all the paperwork etc. and basically didn't want my wife hassled with the phone calls so I made a quick call to BT, explained we were having unwanted marketing calls and as a ...

Hi leaKybrain, No problem, I hope that when people read the posts on here that it inspires them to make the call. All the experts on here come from very reputable companies, and I just wish people thinking about IVA's did a little research and found this forum before going to the 'shady' companies t...

Hi All, firstly sorry for the long absence. Thought I'd drop by and let you all know how the IVA is going. We've now made 3 payments and it's fantastic to have money left at the end of each month, even if it's just a couple of quid, knowing that we haven't set on any more debt. We're slowly learning...

Yes, I'm with Melanie Giles and I'm sure you are allowed to earn 10% and anything more than that is split 50/50 never heard of that calculation to be honest. Although I haven't got it yet I'm sure the rules regarding overtime should be stated in your chairman's report?

Are you currently living together? Because if you aren't, I may be wrong and I'm sure someone will advise me of the fact if I am, but although it won't affect you directly, if you are shown to be contributing to the running costs of the house (when you do move in together) then although you won't ha...

Hi Nicola, Welcome to the forum, I used Melanie Giles after spending what seemed like a lifetime reading posts on here. I can honestly say that Melanie and her colleagues have been nothing but outstanding every step of the way. I personally only contacted Melanie, however if you read through posts o...

Sadone it's taken longer than normal to be honest but that's nothing to do with Mel and her team, they've been excellent throughout. We filled in the initial enquiry form in on Melanies website on 24th Feb but it took us a while to sort out copy payslips and my wife had to cash in her share save sch...

I had a credit card and overdraft with them, they pestered me a little with phone calls but once I told them I was going for an IVA they seemed very helpful. Granted I didn't owe as much as you to them but far more to other creditors. Not everyone voted at my creditors meeting but those that did all...

Never thought about this until now, I know credit histories remain bad for 6 years from date of IVA being accepted but my IVA is for 6 years and most likely will run for a 7th year to cover equity release. How will my credit file be effected by this? Not that I'm particularly bothered as I never wan...

Excellent, Excellent post. Sadone, firstly welcome to the forum, being terrified the IVA will fail is the most natural feeling in the world, EVERYONE who posts here will tell you that, I felt the same way, worried about what you're going to do if it does fail, how you're going to manage. Well I'm ha...

Thanks for all the replies - still not really sunk in to be honest. Can't believe it. We've not really thought about it much over the last week or so as missus has been ill with a chest infection. The antibiotics seem to be working though, she's been for an interview for the long awaited deputy mana...
