I think this must just be something to do with DFD as my details are correct and I'm with Payplan. No - it seems to be affecting some Payplan customers too, I'm with Payplan, and although my IP is still correctly showing as John Harrison, the firm is now listed as Horwath Clark Whitehill & Co, inst...

I'm not an expert, but if these expenses are purely to reimburse costs that you have incurred then it would seem entirely wrong that you should be having to pay accross any portion of them into your IVA. I frequently incur expenses of £1000 within a month, and struggle enough to find the money to in...

I had 8 creditors, who voted as below: The following creditors voted in favour of the Proposal: Halifax Plc / HBOS at The Insolvency Exchange Co-operative Bank plc / Grant Thornton - IVA Watch (for voting purposes only) (with modifications) Halifax Plc / HBOS at The Insolvency Exchange (with modific...

I am surprised that you have had trouble with the Co-Op lincoln guy, you very rarely hear any bad reviews of them. I'm sure that my experience caused by one over-ambitious adviser (I presume they are paid a commision for opening new accounts?). However just prior to entering my IVA I went to the Co...

My main question I suppose is how do they know if you have had any extra money. I guess in truth people do "get away" with not declaring extra money, but is it worth risking failing your agreement if they do find out? If the money has passed through your bank account then you'll probably spend the ...

After suffering no end of trouble with the Co-Op I would have no hesitation recommending a basic Barclays account if they're not linked to any of your creditors - they have been brilliant since I moved to them from the Co-Op.

Hi, I'm sure an expert will be along to offer some advice soon. However, my personal feeling is that whether or not a person in an IVA is "allowed" to be a guarantor, they will definitely fail any credit checks involved in the process. Also, they would be highly unlikely to be able to honestly state...

If all you're being asked to do it witness her signature I really wouldn't worry too much - I have been asked several times by members of my team at work to witness loan/mortgage applications, and all you are doing is witnessing that it was them who signed the form in front of you. However if it is ...

Thanks Melanie, - I must admit I was quite surprised at how nonsepecific that clause was, especially considering that my proposal was drafted by one of the largest firms, I would have thought that they would use a standardised proposal with watertight clauses to reduce potential negotiations further...

Hi All, Just got a quick query for you all, - I have always presumed that the seemingly common "you get to keep first 10% and 50% of the rest" rule applied to additional income in my IVA, however while looking through my proposal today I noticed that the only paragraphs which refer to extra income a...

We did our IVA last May and were told student loans couldnt be included. As in May 2009? Mine was included in December 2009, though I was told that if thay had been owed more than 25% of my total debt they may not have been included as they rarely vote in favour of IVAs. Luckily they were owed 24.3...

I remember being told that changes to legislation mean that since April 2010 student loans cannot be included in an IVA, however a quick search shows many websites that state student loans couldn't be included after November 2009 - this info must be wrong as my student loan was included in my IVA in...
