I've recently been in a similar situation getting a tax rebate from 2005- 2006 (way before my IVA) of just under 3k. I wasn't expecting to keep any of it as its clearly a windfall, but after a quick chat with my provider they confirmed it was all required, but we talked about using some of the rebat...

Michael, Surely an extension would only be sought if a set dividend had been agreed in the proposal. Wouldn't a loss of income, whatever the source, be dealt with in the same way with a variation and a change to the monthly payment amount in line with the I&E?

Surely the key thing is that no one should be telling the OP what to do, only presenting the options and explaining clearly why some are better and why. One thing thats for sure is that all of our situations are different, and in the majority of cases complex, all an advisor can do is interpret thos...

The car allowance will be seen as additional income, but you need to make sure that your overall expenditure is also accounted for. Normally car allowances are paid because there is an expectation that you will be travelling as part of your daily job, this impacts wear and tear on your car, service ...

Well, I've not been on the forum for some time now, but a year and a half in and everything is going well and I am loving the new found freedom that the IVA has given me, when I look back at the years of robbing Peter to pay Paul and sleepless nights wondering which card was going to pay the minimum...

Hi baldy, I'm with CCSVA and have just completed year 1. All they asked from me was my last three bank statements, my last three wage slips and my last p60 as well as an updated I&E. It all went well for me, very little change in my monthly payment despite a relatively large increase in pay. I made ...

Charitable status is a way of classifying an organisation the same way that you have different types of business classification (PLC, LTD etc) and dictates how the organisation is run, all charities have paid employees so i fail to see the relevance of the fact that CCCS, Payplan and CAB amongst oth...

Another option is to get an instant access savings account, you won't get rich on the interest, but it means you have instant access to your emergency fund. I have the step account and an E-saver account linked to it. I don't think they credit check, but I didn't have any problems. Down side is it's...

Hi mumofthree. Your right Halifax (HBOS) is now part of the lloydstsb group. I think they are still run as seperate entities, and now that your IVA has been approved there should be no risk to the money in it although there is the possibility that Lloyds may close the account just because your in an...

Congratulations mumofthree thats great news, i had everything crossed for you. My IVA was approved at 156 pcm, but i also had some endowments which were also included as assets. I assume its really just down to the end dividend as to if its approved or not and if they believe that what is being offe...

I had debts to Halifax and Lloyds (all part of the same organisation now), but they voted separately. I think a lot depends on if the subsidiary is run as a separate business or not. Most of the retail type banking is a backed off service where they do little except act as a middleman, I know this i...
