Hi, I am so sorry to hear this - if it helps at all, you are not alone. Do a budget, speak to your creditors, they have to be reasonable, in general, they will understand the situation and help where they can.

I agree with Michael, speaking to an IP may give you some ideas you hadn't thought about.

Hi, Sorry to hear about this, first thing you need to deal with is any joint accounts, joint finance etc. Get a copy of your credit report to make sure that you don't miss anything. Once you have got rid of them do as ladyh says, write to the credit ref agencies and make sure that they disassociate ...

Hi John, speak to your regiments pensions adviser, get some figures for the worst case scenario and speak to your IP. Alternatively, if you don't want to leave, speak to your OC, see if they can shed light on any ways you can advance enough to stay - I know time is short, however, I rushed a Sgt thr...

Hi Robert, give it a few months before you try again, I know you want to get your credit rating back up sooner rather than later, but time can be a great healer. Don't keep trying over and over though, this can actually cause more harm than good.

Good luck, hope you get it sorted.

I would say it depends how far down the IVA route you are. It may help if they will reduce the payments and stop interest in the short term - whilst you get the IVA up and running.I think the process is the same for Nat West as it is with RBS. Of course, if your IVA is going to start up sooner rathe...

You may qualify for a number of solutions, you need to do a full assessment of income vs expenditure. Work out what you have left over each month. Also, make sure that you include any credit commitments, don't miss anything out. For information on IVA's or the other possible solutions, these links c...

I think any increase should be taken into account in your review. The whole point of an IVA is that it does take your circumstances into account. I would speak to your IP as soon as you can, make sure that they are not going to change their mind further down the line after you have committed the ext...

Wow, I'm a little concerned that the car allowance was included in your salary by the IP. Are you certain that this is the case? If so, you should be able to sort out the situation. Sorry to hear about the job by the way, it is tough out there. For information on IVA's or the other possible solution...

I'm with Melanie, you should not be paying up front for anything. Have a look around before signing any paperwork. We don't charge any up front fees, and I know that there are other companies out there who don't either. Also, make sure that you understand fully any charges that a IP is going to make...
