Ronald.h1, it does make you wonder sometimes why you are trying to do the 'right' thing when you get harrassment like this and all around you there are people taking the easy option! I have just seen my first draft proposal for IVA and it illustrates the the difference in cost to me against BR. On I...

I am currently applying for an IVA with the assistance of Melanie's team, in fact I have a telecon this afternoon to discuss the figures going into my proposal before it is sent out to me. I would just like to say that regardless of how this thread reads I have absolutely no worries about my choice ...

Hi Sam, Get a new account with a bank that has no relationship to any of your creditors, assuming you are going for an IVA. The Coop seems to be the favoured option on this forum, and if you are going for IVA make sure you tell them you just want a simple current account with debit card but no credi...

How are pensions viewed when preparing a proposal for IVA? I have a company pension which I have been contributing into for 5 years (not long in the scheme of things)which has a reported "Fund Value" of over £20k. This is a standard pension whereby my employer matches my contributions. Stop rambling...

Congatulations pog!! A fresh start, must be a nice feeling!
I have a question for you if you don't mind. You mention you have no equity in your property, did you still have a clause in your iva proposal for equity release after 4/5 years? I am in a similar situation but not at the proposal stage yet.

Ok, guess my question got missed. Just for interest I can tell you that my salary went into my Lloyds account and didn't get grabbed, thank God. I've left enough in there to pay my essential direct debits mortgage etc which all go out this week and taken the rest out to make sure it doesn't get grab...

Hi All, thanks for your kind words of support. I applied to Natwest to set up a new account a couple of weeks ago and it's taken til now for them to ask me to send in copies of my latest bank statement to prove my salary is paid directly into the bank. My worry is that I wanted to get a new account ...

All the paperwork is off in the post to Melanie's team now. Phone calls, automated texts/emails from creditors who I banked with online, calls at work, it's all happening now, thick and fast. One good thing, I've explained to my partner (girl friend) what I am doing, what an IVA is, what it could me...

Baz, I took a phone the first call from Capial One today. I knew it was them because I recognised the number, I was ready for it. The woman on the end of the phone pointed out I was in arrears and that I must make a payment £400 quid now or face charges. I told her my financial adviser was writing t...

Thanks Melanie, I do feel I have chosen my IP well. I've had an email from Tina asking for info which I will reply to asap. Everyone else, I am proceeding with Melanie on the IVA route. I think it is the right course of action for me, although I must admit the thought of not paying my creditors ever...

All change!! Just had a very informative telcon with a lovely lady called Tina at Melanie Giles offices as secondary advice to that received by DFD. She was very knowledgeable and gave me so much advanced detail that I'm not sure whether I will be persuing the IVA route now. It all hinges on whether...
